Tequila Sheila wants Kenny to open up immigration for political reasons

Former Liberal cabinet minister Sheila Copps advises Immigration Minister Jason Kenney to make special exemptions on Haitian immigrants for purely political purposes:

“The minister, who has assiduously cultivated political ties with minority communities, now has a chance to prove whether action can match intention”

To the Chretien-era Liberal, it doesn’t matter what you believe is right, it only matters how many votes you can buy. (see column here)

Norman Spector still working on getting fired from The Globe and Mail

Norman Spector continues to take on the editorial writers at the Globe and Mail on their indefensible stance on prorogation. This is getting fun…. (see column here)

Just because democracy did, Liberal MPs and senators don’t think their junkets should end as well

Funny how Liberal MPs and senators have been screaming from the rooftops how Canada’s parliament screeched to a halt when Harper prorogued but it doesn’t stop them from going on cushy international trips paid for by the taxpayer. (see story here)

Check out this quote from Liberal MP and deputy whip Marcel Proulx admonishing the media for even raising this story:

“I think it’s the media’s role to help us make people understand that because Parliament has been prorogued, it doesn’t mean that Parliamentarians, whether they be Members of Parliament or whether they be Senators, we’re not going to sit at home and wait until March 3, so we can come to Ottawa and sit in the House. It’s a 12-month a year business. People know that we’re continuing to work”

But not the role of the opposition parties Marcel?

Will Iffy ask his best buddy Bob Rae about proposed prorogation rules?

Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff has seen the light and wants parliament prorogation rules changed. (see story here)

He has some prorogation “experts” in his caucus and staff that he can look to for advice on yet another new-found Liberal policy. He can ask the likes of Bob Rae, the new Piano Man who prorogued Ontario’s parliament 4 times for much longer periods of time and Peter Donlolo who was Jean Chretien’s communication director when Chretien would regularly prorogue to avoid scandal.

PS look at what is on the kid’s touque in the picture
