Liberal MP Borys Wrzesnewskyj, who was once removed from his deputy foreign affairs critic post for saying Canada should negotiate directly with a Canadian recognized terrorist group Hezbollah, didn’t want Immigration Minister Jason Kenney going to the 65th anniversary ceremonies at the Nazi death camp.
Wrzesnewskyj thinks traveling to and clogging up airspace, hotels etc in Haiti is the only place Kenny should be and that no other government immigration business apparently can done for weeks. He called the Auschwitz trip a “jaunt” and said:
“If he wanted to visit a cathedral, why not visit the cathedral in Port au Prince?”
Can you hear the sound of the rest of the Jewish voters slamming the door on the Liberals? (see article here)

Update: Wrzesnewskyj has now apologized ( see here) for not being “fully informed” before he opened his big yap. I’m sure this “apology” had nothing to do with being called from the Liberal headquarters and from the B’nai Brith complaint (see here) issued to him.
“It is absolutely despicable that Wrzesnewskyj would characterize Minister Kenney’s trip to Auschwitz as a ‘jaunt,’” said Frank Dimant, Executive Vice President of B’nai Brith Canada. “Minister Kenney and the government should be praised for their decision to go to Poland and participate in a ceremony which pays tribute to the memory and honour of the victims of the Holocaust.
