VANOC thought Arnie was a good rep for drug free sports?

Honestly, just when you think VANOC can’t do anything dumber than the thing that they just did…

Today’s idiotic move was to get Arnold Schwarzenegger to run in the Torch Relay along the prestigious leg in Stanley Park. VANOC’s CEO John Furlong thinks it’s a terrific to have the Governator, as he has a “great connection” with British Columbia. “I think he will help us to focus attention on some of the things we are doing”

Furlong doesn’t get the irony of having someone who admitted doing steroids to succeed in his “sport”, did more for the sales of the Hummer than any paid ad man and has campaigned against BC’s film industry be a poster boy for Vancouver and the  “Green” Olympics?

Charest gets caught making backroom deal on tailpipe emission standards

Quebec Liberal Premier Jean Charest is the master of telling others what to do but not living by any of those same standards himself.

The most recent example was Charest telling Canada how to act on the international stage at Copenhagen even when he won’t stop the exporting of asbestos to third world countries (see post here). Now today, he gets caught making a side deal that allowed Hydro Quebec to buy vehicles that the average Quebecer is forbidden due to Quebec’s tailpipe emission rules.

Don Martin sure has a hate-on for MP Rob Anders

I don’t know why Don Martin is so hell-bent on trying to get Conservative MP Rob Anders defeated.

This is the third time that I can recall that Martin goes out of his way to report on some internal Conservative Party squabbling in Anders’ riding association and it just seems like a personal vendetta. Funny how Martin knows that everyone who is trying to take out Anders from within the Party must be democratic saints and would be such “strong contenders” as if the 50% vote Anders brings in is weak.

The same logic could be used as to why Canwest protects such a weak columnist when there are so many stronger writers out there that could do a better job.
