3rd improper land deal linked to resigned Liberal solicitor-general

“The Vancouver Sun has uncovered details of a third Chilliwack land deal linked to former solicitor-general John Les that the Agricultural Land Commission said was completed by breaking its rules.

The case is one of 66 different parcels of agricultural land the City of Chilliwack allowed to be improperly subdivided over the last two decades, says a damning report recently released by the ALC.

Les is a former land developer who was Chilliwack’s mayor from 1987 to 1999. He became a Liberal MLA in 2001, but stepped down as solicitor-general two years ago after it was learned the RCMP was conducting a parallel probe to the ALC’s, looking into whether Les “improperly benefited from any commercial transactions involving land developers.” (continue reading here)

    It’s a good thing Diogenes never scoured the ranks of the politicos looking for an honest man. He’d have probably committed suicide out of shear frustration.
