Guess Iffy doesn’t know about Chretien’s Sea King fiasco?

Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff’s 34 years living outside of Canada showed up again glaringly in his denouncement of the decision to buy F-35 fighter jets. (see story here)

“Ignatieff promised earlier that even if Prime Minister Stephen Harper goes ahead with what he called a non-transparent, non-competitive contract to build the F-35, a Liberal government would put the deal on hold to allow for an open competition.”

Does Iffy not know how this decision was made to go with the F-35s? Did someone not tell him that it was based on a 9 country development plan called the Joint Strike Fighter or is he only reading idiotic columns by Jeffery Simpson (see here)?

Is someone intentionally not giving Iffy the background on what occurred the last time Liberals played politics with the aging, outdated Sea Kings helicopters? I can’t imagine that any Liberals who were around then would want to go through another soldier-killing decision based on pure politics like when Chretien canceled that replacement contract (see here).
