Christie Blatchford of the Globe and Mail is disgusted with a CTV Newsnet host, a CBC reporter and CBC Radio’s As It Happens for the way they tried to keep the lie going that 4 Canadian soldiers were killed by friendly fire in Sept 2006.
Blatchford quotes Corporal Jody Mitic:
“I was there and our boys were not killed by friendly fire. Ask anyone from Charles Company. Friendly fire, my ass.”
Also: Brian Lilley took the CBC to task for the same here

I too am disgusted and thank Christie, Brian and all of the common sense, HUMAN journalists, of which the pickin’s are becoming slimmer by the day.
What is wrong with these lazy and profoundly evil people that in essence, do nothing other than regurgitate the garbage of others that without question, had a personal agenda when doing this despicable, irresponsible sewer dwelling release in the first place?
The families of these BRAVE and COURAGEOUS Canadian Soldiers, deserve so much better from these networks and Canadians should wake up and become engaged with what this type of propaganda implies.
It implies that they are willing to try to tell Canadians ANYTHING and see what minds they can bend and infiltrate.
It’s gossip journalism and frankly, no one needs much of a brain for that.

The people who work for CBC and CTV have no ethical standards whatsoever. Their main purpose in life is to try to throw as much dirt as possible at the government, and they they will dishonour and degrade the memories of our troops in an attempt to give credence to their slimy leftist viewpoint.
The Liberals and the NDP are right in their cheering them on and clutching at any straw no matter how filth encrusted it is.
Why Ms. Blatchford continues to write for this left-wing propagande spewing rag is beyond me.

Avril Stachnik is the mother of one of the fallen soldiers killed, not a CTV Newsnet host.

Bad cut and paste, thank you…fixed.

the more these journalistic whores go on, the more the new Sun media will pick up followers when they start

CBC will ruin the lives of anyone who have strong faith in our country, in our troops and yes, in GOD as well.
They have ridiculed mock insulted not only the prime minister and the conservative but our great nation as well, our troops and us canadians..
CBC should be shut down completely.

When you are an overly comfortable asshole who has done nothing more courageous than sit on your ass and smear others then you probably feel pretty inferior to men and women who actually are brave enough to put their comfort,
safety, lives and (gasp) EVEN CONVENIENCE (can you imagine?) on the line for an ideal.
It’s much easier to practice easy idealism by pointing your holier than thou fingers at other people and smear them in news reports then off to the bar to get pissed and brag about what a hero you are.
July 31, 2010 at 3:37 PM
First they called our troops war criminals based on the heresay evidence of one snivel servant who went out of the safe zone what once? Now they take field notes which are basically gossip, heresay, random thoughts of the soldiers etc who pass these thoughts up the chain of command to investigate as fact. These people aren’t professionals they are gossip mongers of the worse kind, the pain they are putting the families through to what appease the fantical leftest pro-Taliban crowd?

Frank Mellish is not a reporter either..he is the father of one of the fallen soldiers.
July 31, 2010 at 4:35 PM
Thank you…corrected as well. I sure screwed this post up…

Christie Blatchford is one of the best.

Christie Blatchford is one of the best.
You got that right, Joanne! I hope she ends up joining SunTV. She would be fantastic calling out all the other journalists for their lies and bias. She is a breath of fresh air that’s for sure.

May be Christie should do vacation relief for David Akin–then perhaps Kory will rethink that decision.

Remember that both CTV and CBC are strong Librano supporters and any they can do to embarrass the Tories they will do. This includes yellow journalism – which the CBC is the master of.

And it will remain so until we do something about them -before it is ‘TOO LATE’
WE THE PEOPLE, have more power than the media.
Look at them, have you watch them or heard them- they sing the same song write the same story express their dying love for one party liberals but now it is ndp and bloc.
Have you seen the way they took the HINI, wafergate ,census gate or this gate or that gate story and are blowing it out of proportion inventing a few sentences here and there to the point it gets worse and worse each day.
Yet 40 million dollars is still missing, adscam, Ralphael Rodriquez, derek lee, CSL, E. I. scandal, shawinagan etc etc etc remains quiet by the same media you see reacting and over reacting over the ‘GATE STORIES.
There is not a national television on the liberals’ case over the missing million and others; the silence and fear by those so call reporters is so deafening you can cut with a knife.
Have you ever heard a reporter tell a liberal mp “by the the way it was TRUDEAU WHO LEFT MULRONEY WITH A HUGH DEBT – so don’t blame Mulroney solely for the debt.”
August 2, 2010 at 7:49 AM
ah yes Jen – you DO put it so well – defund that bloated pompous CBC now – they would shrivel up like a prune, if they had to face any market reality at all – and yes, we DO have the power if we just keep working at it
