The line that the rank and file police officers are overwhelmingly in favour of the Long gun-Registry is repeated ad nauseum in the media.
An example of this is when MP Shelly Glover was on Power Play and Tom Clark asked her to name officers who wanted it scrapped. It would take a brave but foolhardy police officer to openly go against either their superiors and/or union heads by voicing their true feelings on the Registry.
A national survey done by Constable Randy Kuntz, a 22-year veteran with Edmonton Police Services, shows a very different rate of police officers supporting the Registry than what the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police led by Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair would have us believe.
If I have to choose which version to believe, I’m putting my faith and trust in a survey done by a real cop and answered by real cops, not politician-cops. (see here)
