Anti-HST point man quits BC Conservatives

Chris Delaney has accepted the position of party spokesperson for the new BC First Party.

“Delaney says the party is positioning itself to become the new BC Liberal Party, only with a different name. He says his former party’s waffling on the HST put him in an awkward position in his fight against the tax.”

I’m not even a little bit surprised about this as I had already called it here.

    Well there’s a double Liberal HST support in BC and Ontario,
    provincial and federal Liberals are pro-HST.

    Iffy WHIPPED the vote on passing the HST bill in Parliament for Campbell and McGuinty:

    “Ignatieff told reporters Tuesday it will be a whipped vote, meaning even those MPs opposed to the harmonized sales tax for Ontario and British Columbia are to toe the party line.

    Ignatieff said he considered the Liberal party’s 15-year support for sales tax harmonization and the fact the party believes in provinces’ rights to make their own decisions.
