Turns out Gordon Campbell wasn’t even eligible for Order of BC award

A little problem has popped up for the Order of BC “independent” panel who gave disgraced ex-Liberal premier Gordon Campbell one of these now tainted awards.

You see, according to the rules, no sitting politician is eligible to receive the award and the nominations were closed Mar 10 and Campbell didn’t resign until Mar 14.

This poses a very big problem to those on the panel such as Liberal house-pet John Furlong but only if the complacent BC media ever start doing their job and begin to expose all the corruption and cronyism happening here in Lotus Land.

NDP’s Megan Leslie admits trying to use MP status to get to front of line

The Chronicle Herald has posted a staggering admission from NDP MP Megan Leslie who tried to use her position as MP to get into a French immersion course of which she knew no spaces existed:

“Halifax MP Megan Leslie was a bit surprised when she tried in June to get into this week’s French immersion course in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., and was told it’s full.

“I probably shouldn’t tell you this,” she said before sharing. “I was like ‘Oh, no, no, it actually is Megan Leslie calling, not one of my staff. And I’m calling for me, not for my staff.’

“And they’re like ‘No, sorry Madame Leslie, we know it’s you, and we’re full.’ Because with these kinds of things, like, we’re quite used to getting what we need on the Hill, right?”

She laughed heartily.

“You’re saying no to me?” she continued. “Really? Wow, you must actually be full.” (see here)

Macleans’ Rookie of the Year certainly learned Ottawa’s sense of entitlement quickly huh?

BC Rail’s “Spiderman” got nickname as Paul Martin’s break-in thief

Anyone who would like to read a good run-down on one of the main players in the BC Rail scandal should check out Michael Smyth’s account of confessed briber Erik Bornmann who can now practice law in Ontario.

Besides the corruption of the BC Rail case associated with Bornmann, Smyth retells the story of how Bornmann got his nickname “Spiderman”:

“The panel heard Bornmann got the moniker from a rumoured story that he once broke through the ceiling of Liberal party headquarters to get a party membership list. At the time, Bornmann was working for Paul Martin’s federal leadership bid.”

You are welcome to him Ontario. (see here)
