CTV’s news anchor: “Are we really more ethical than the Saudis?”

Ezra Levant, on his show The Source, hi-lights the moronic blathering from Liberal Scott Reid who acted as a guest-panelist on a CTV News program with the topic being ethical oil.

This CTV segment is hosted by Jacqueline Milczarek who, with as much contempt as possible and accompanied with a sneer, asks:

“Are we [Canada] really more ethical than the Saudis?” (11:30 of video above)

Make sure you don’t miss the expression of disbelief on the face of the National Post’s Tasha Keiriddin who may have needed help picking her jaw up off the floor after hearing such an outrageous statement.

Also: Check out Keiriddin’s nice column on ethical oil here and then compare it to the bizarre column run the same day on the same issue by her co-worker Jonathan Kay here

3rd time Minister MacKay caught using military equipment

I’ll start by saying that I have met Peter MacKay a few times and he even though some were when he was not at his best (*cough*cough*Belinda*) and not when he was doing what was best for the Conservative Party, he was always very pleasant and friendly.

I have absolutely no personal animosity towards him and have long ago forgiven him for being swept up in the Belinda Stronach hoopla as so many people (who wouldn’t admit it now) did. I was there when she treated us all to lavish parties where celebrities such as Tom Cochrane played piano and sang while we drank blue martinis.

Peter and I although about the same age come from two different political worlds. His was one learned at the knee of Brian Mulroney and influenced by Mulroney’s cronies whereas mine was defined by what Mulroney and his cronies did to the conservative movement.

This old-school influence shows up plainly in Peter’s judgement to use the military as his personal toys.

First we saw where he signed off on General Walter Natynczyk’s use of a Challenger jet to meet his family in the Caribbean.

Then it’s revealed that he used a Search-and-Rescue helicopter to pick him up from a friend’s fishing camp and tried to say it was because of a training session although none were scheduled until his office made the request that day.

And then MacKay gives the OK for C-17 heavy-lift transport plane to move a donated fire truck to the Dominican Republic over the objections of the air force.

The last is a great cause for sure but again it shows the mentality and complete lack of judgement when it comes to differentiating how we as Conservatives should be treating the public purse to how the Liberals and Progressive Conservatives did before us.

A wake-up call is needed via a strong message sent down the Conservative bench especially to these now comfy ministers.

CBC Ghomeshi’s suck-up to US movie critic who wanted Sun TV banned

Here’s one of the Tweets I sent to CBC’s Jian Ghomeshi after I saw that he had interviewed movie critic Roger Ebert:

And this was the Tweet sent by Ebert I was referring:

To which Ghomeshi replied:

@bcbluecon did not know that. thx for the link.

My good deed for the day done in the fight against censorship, I didn’t think much of it until today when I saw this:

An honour?! You’d think that a person involved in the arts as much as Ghomeshi would cringe at the thought that he gave a censor advocate a media platform but apparently to hypocrites like Ghomeshi, it all depends who it is being stopped from having a voice.
