The CBC isn’t backing down from its bizarre press release on Sun News and its parent company Quebecor which has in turn threatened legal action.
Since there is no real accountability on how the CBC spends taxpayers’ money, there isn’t really a downside nor threat to the CBC brass’ jobs who are willing to waste our money in what will assuredly be a very expensive lawsuit. (see here)

Then a law suit is in order and I hope it happens. I realise that we shall have to cover the CBC’s legal cost, but they must learn that they are not above the law.

I keep waiting for Harper to grow a pair and do something about this nest of vipers. It seems he is a CBC supporter.

Well if Quebecor has been defamed then game on…
If CBC is so open, then they shouldn’t mind opening their books for the general public, like any other company lets say like listed on the TSX.
I mean we would want to accuse them of financial malfeasance like Adscam….where untold millions remain unaccounted for because after all they are ‘accountable to the public’ as they are a ‘public’ broadcaster.
Cheers

Can’t wait to see Yvon Godin’s forthcoming complaint to the Commissioner of Official Languages that the CBC’s response to Quebecor is available in french only.
“CBC/Radio-Canada’s response to Quebecor’s notice is available at here (French version only).”

I have been noticing a lot of language hypocrisy for most of my life. For now, Godin is the new Denis Coderre. Everything is a language crisis. Except if it screws the English. Then its a-ok and preferable.

Feel free to contact this CBC dude and ask for the letter in your language. I did.
And send a copy to yvon.godin@parl.gc.ca and for fun denis.coderre@parl.gc.ca
Keep in mind both Yvon and Denis only respond to inquiries in French. For some reason they can’t figure out the translation services provided for them in Parliament compliments of you and me. Correspondent uniquement en français S.V.P.

Sure it’s our money spent on a lawsuit, but as long as it comes out of the current 1.1 billion bailout money then it’s ok with me. It just means they will have less to splash on all there cronies.
