Did I miss CBC Kady doing 5 mins on NDP Pat Martin’s F-off Tweet?

You will remember when Kady O’Malley refused to acknowledge that NDP MP Pat Martin telling someone on Twitter to F-off was a story:

“And we do. I’m sorry, I just don’t think an MP getting in a spat on twitter constitutes breaking news.” (see here)

So I would love for her to now explain why she did a lengthy segment on Conservative minister Tony Clement sending a private message calling someone a jackass.  (see video here).

Conservatives have one side of oil pipeline debate all to themselves

In all the ink spilled on the debate for the National Energy Board’s hearings into Enbridge’s  Northern Gateway pipeline proposal, the one angle that has been forgotten about are the now established political divisions .

The Greens, NDP and now Liberals (see here) have all come out in different degrees against the pipeline leaving the Conservatives as the only political party supporting it and Harper couldn’t be happier having it this way.

Having Resource Minister Joe Oliver calling out the anti-oil sands eco-fanatics was the perfect bait to get Rae to leap to their defence and further alienate the Blue Liberals remaining within and Rae swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

Star basically calling Harper a liar on Putin hockey story

We now have a pattern of how Canadian media will run false stories. The Toronto Star has learned from the CBC (see here) how it’s possible to get away with making up a story using “unnamed sources” and then “standing by” these same ghosts when challenged.

Yesterday the Star ran the asinine Putin vs Harper hockey story and then had the nerve to have a follow-up story ready saying that the PM was now denying it only because it was being reported (see here).

Now today, the Star’s spokesman Bob Hepburn ruins what little credibility he may have left with this:

“The nature of their comments appears to have changed. They knew what the story was about and there was no denial at that time.”  (see here)

To that, the PMO had this to say:

In the days of Woodward and Bernstein, editors’ jobs were on the line if they backed journos’ anonymous sources that couldn’t be verified but in today’s unethical news organization business, everyone is in on the deception if the target is one they all hate.
