CBC Kady goes after her good friend BT’s Stephen Taylor

I’ve always found Blogging Tories co-founder Stephen Taylor exceedingly fair and polite especially for one who is a political partisan and generally acts in a completely professional manner. My only ‘advice’ to him was that he does this to a fault as our political foes won’t return the same consideration.

I assume as two people who took up social media from the beginning, Taylor and CBC’s Kady O’Malley developed their friendly relationship which seemingly lasted until this past weekend with two personal blow-ups.

Taylor had sought access for bloggers at the Liberal’s convention which was denied even with the vocal support from O’Malley but through Sun News, he ended up getting media accreditation.

The first spat of the weekend occurred over the Globe and Mail’s phony same-sex story as Taylor Tweeted:

“The unreported story today is that Bob Rae, David Miller, Paul Martin, Dan Savage and the G&M are damn liars”

Which started a long back-and-forth between O’Malley who defended the media by playing hurt bunny again but they did manage to kiss and make-up:

“Me too, cheers @kady RT @kady: Sorry to disappoint, but I’m done with @stephen_taylor and I apologize for getting all that cranky”

This lasted until the group Taylor works for, the National Citizens Coalition, released an attack ad on Liberal interim leader Bob Rae during the convention:

This action by the NCC and Taylor made O’Malley’s flip-out on Twitter and culminated in her writing this today:

Yes, that’s the very same Stephen Taylor who was responsible for what can most charitably be described as the soft launch of the NCC’s anti-Rae Youtube spot over the weekend, which – again – was undertaken while he was ostensibly covering the convention as accredited media.

In fact, at the same time that his company was billing both the NCC and Conservative candidates for election-related expenses, Taylor was still serving as a spokesperson for the NCC on various issues, including a CBC.ca report on, somewhat fittingly, given the current context, viral videos.  (see here)

Curious if anyone else gets the same mental image of O’Malley while she typed out this about her good friend?
