Sun’s Goldstein tells CBC Kady to “grow a spine” over NCC Bob Rae ad

The Sun’s Lorrie Goldstein does a nice slap-down of the pearl-clutching conspiracy theorists in the Ottawa Press Gallery who got their panties in a bunch (see here) over Stephen Taylor and the National Citizens Coalition running an attack ad against Bob Rae:

“Of all the manufactured outrage in Ottawa these days among Liberals, NDPers and media, none is more hilarious than the recent furor over a little attack ad aimed at Interim Liberal Leader Bob Rae by the right-wing National Citizens Coalition.” (see here)

Of course Goldstein’s adult advice will be ignored by O’Malley et al as they continue pushing their anti-conservative agendas.

Ex-Liberal MP still as classless as ever as London mayor

Belated congratulations to London Ontario for electing gas-bag Joe Fontana as your current mayor.

You now have a mouth-piece for organized labour leading you who is destroying any possible working relationship between your city and the federal government with quotes such as this:

“Get you ass down here Prime Minister Harper” (see here)

Mayors have an obligation to put away their political partisanship while in office for the betterment of their communities. Unfortunately you elected one who only cares about himself.

Duceppe illegally used taxpayers’ money to pay Bloc Party President

Joel-Denis Bellavance of La Press is reporting that former Bloc Québécois leader Gilles Duceppe paid party president Gilbert Gardner up to $100,000 a year for 7 years out of his House of Commons office budget.

From Google translation:

“Mr. Gardner, who worked at the headquarters of the Bloc in Montreal and occupied essentially to the management and organization of the party, was hired in 2004 by Mr. Duceppe. He pocketed a salary that exceeded $ 100 000 in the last years of his term.”

Bellevance also notes that Duceppe’s chief of staff, Francois Leblanc was paid $90,000 from his office budget while she was getting her masters degree and writing a book on the Bloc. (see here)

More politics as usual in Quebec?

Update: CTV runs the CP story on this only adding that Duceppe won’t comment

Update: Kris Sims from Sun is reporting Duceppe saying all parties are doing the same thing and that Con MP Maxime Bernier is promising an investigation:

“We will be asking for an investigation and expect the Bloc to return any money they improperly spent.” (see here)
