Besides the obvious hilarity of having the son of a multi-millionaire speaking at an event co-hosted by Occupy Kelowna, Liberal MP Justin Trudeau was also here in the Okanagan at the request of the organized labour-backed group, Council of Canadians.
“We have a government right now that’s very effective at fostering that cynicism. It’s a government that explains, in its own ideology, that it doesn’t particularly like government, it doesn’t believe government has a role to play in addressing inequalities or directing a country towards more prosperity or more justice.” (see here)
I’d never expect a fawning local reporter (an earlier article called Trudeau a rockstar) to ask who paid for this partisan trip but I wonder if one of our esteemed Ottawa Press Gallery members might?
