Globe reporter states Harper “breathed life into Parti Québécois”

An astounding first paragraph by the Globe and Mail’s Rheal Seguin:

Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s move to transform Canada has breathed new life into the Parti Québécois, which after being battered for weeks by internal divisions is now rallying behind Leader Pauline Marois’ opposition to Ottawa’s conservative agenda. (see here)

Notice that there are no quotations used or reference that it was spoken by someone else.  It is written as a statement of fact by Seguin with no evidence to back up the assertion and is in Globe’s News/Politics section and not Opinion.

Curious to see if this will be the Globe’s new public editor’s first chance to show us readers “how decisions are made” at her newspaper?

Canada paid $1M to be part of a group that includes Hamas

It seems pretty ridiculous to me that Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney are saying that Canada will not allow Hamas to attend a meeting of the International Parliamentary Union in Quebec even though they are members just like us. (see here)

Why is the Conservative government supporting the International Parliamentary Union if it allows terrorists in it?

If Baird and Kenney want to take a principled stance, they would stop giving our money to any organization that includes Hamas.
