The silly season is in full bloom going into the final week of Alberta’s election and the suspect media are in absolute panic mode trying to damage Danielle Smith and the Wildrose and keep their Progressive Alison Redford in power.
There have been some hilarious freak-outs so far like from the Calgary Herald’s Robert Remington who has whined about being “bullied” even posting a comment on another other journo’s column:
And having the audacity to re-Tweet this:
But by far, the award for best media melt-down goes to the CBC’s Kim Trynacity for her question directed at Smith:
“Danielle, your candidate though, he almost — it smacks of hatred. So what’s the difference between religious personal view, and then promoting a hate crime?” (see video here)
It was fun to watch Smith absolutely destroy Trynacity with her response but think about a reporter that is unable to tell the difference between a religious view held by many mainstream religions and a hate-crime.
According to Trynacity, we have all been victims of a hate-crime and some of us, about a million times.
Update: Paula Simons of the Edmonton Journal is giving Trynacity a run for her money:
“Hunsperger is an unabashed old-school homophobe who makes Rick Santorum look like a drag queen at a Pride Parade” (see here)
Update: I can’t keep up… the Canadian Press actually ran this:
Scientist muses whether Alberta Wildrose leader believes in flat Earth (see here) *CP has now altered their original story*
