Media hound NDP MP Pat Martin was at it again today seeking the spotlight of our Queen’s 60th year on the throne in order to spew anti-monarchy sentiment during an interview on Global’s West Block:
“Watching these people from 30 or 40 different countries having to swear allegiance — not to Canada, but to the Queen and all of her heirs — it kind of just struck me at that moment that we are way out of touch.” (see here)
Martin could learn a lot from the Queen about basic manners and common courtesy on when it’s appropriate to criticise and when one should keep their mouth shut.
I do look forward to tomorrow when the Ottawa media ask NDP leader Thomas (Tom) Mulcair if he shares his MP’s disdain for Canada’s historical British relations.
