I am not exaggerating when I say that I have probably been asked the question, “How do we get young people involved” at least a thousand times over the years and my response was usually along the lines of, “We’d be millionaires if we knew”.
It’s always been an uphill fight to attract young people into the conservative movement. We don’t have the ‘easy-sell’ fluff policies that have youth flock to the NDP, Green or even the Liberals, thus generally our activists have been much older.
So, when I saw the group BC Conservative Youth Association started by Jesse Donovan, I was pumped. Instead of just asking how to do it, here’s a guy taking the initiative to organize other like-minded young people in the effort to promote conservative principles of which he should be roundly applauded.
I’m a huge believer in organizing non-affiliated conservative groups and support his efforts wholeheartedly. One of my goals has been to help create a network of conservatives and secure basic funding to help pay for websites etc and intend to offer any assistance to Jesse that I can.
