Liberal MP says he was yelling about “saluting Harper” but didn’t use Nazi salute

I find it more than a little strange and very coincidental that Liberal MP Wayne Easter says that he was indeed heckling Conservative MPs that they should be saluting PM Stephen Harper when he was accused of using the Nazi salute by Minister Joe Oliver:

Easter did tell the Guardian he was “peeved” at the time, because Harper was “bowing like an emperor” during the marathon session.

“We said that the way they are applauding the Prime Minister every time, they should salute him” (see here)

Easter had better darn well hope that if he did indeed gesture at Harper using the Nazi salute, that a camera didn’t pick it up.

Update: Dynamite as Conservative MP Chris Warkentin backs up Joe Oliver’s version:

“Unfortunately it wasn’t as he (Easter) describes now.” (see here)

Mulcair misses most votes of party leaders in NDP filibuster

How does the NDP explain their leader missing the greatest amounts of votes during their own filibuster?

Mulcair – 58 missed votes

Harper – 49 missed votes

Rae – 34 missed votes (see here)

Harper has a country to run but what’s Mulcair’s excuse?
