Chronicle Herald runs hit-piece on Speaker Scheer

If you thought we were finally rid of garbage journalism from the Chronicle Herald when Stephen Maher left to become Postmedia’s resident dumpster-diver, guess again.

Filling his shoes is another member of the Mean Girls, Paul McLeod who uses anonymous MP sources to attack House Speaker Andrew Scheer

Outwardly, opposition MPs say they are disappointed but not surprised by Tuesday’s ruling, but behind the scenes, some members of Parliament are angry. (see here)

McLeod uses these chicken**** “angry MP” even though both opposition house leaders support Scheer:

NDP House Leader Nathan Cullen and Liberal House Leader Marc Garneau said Tuesday that they have full confidence in Scheer.

Some things will never change at the anti-Conservative Chronically Horrid.

Minister ok with bar license for new billion-dollar BC RCMP HQ?

My jaw almost hit the floor when I read this piece by BC’s best investigative reporter Bob Mackin:

RCMP officers’ mess hopes to serve beer Sundays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to midnight and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. (see here)

Just what we need here in BC – more drunk driving RCMP members.

Regardless of the optics and potential for more drunk driving RCMP officers, who is the clueless RCMP official who thought having an in-house bar was what tax dollars should be spent on?

And, where the Heck is Minister of Safety Vic Toews on this?

Update: The capacity for this bar license would be for 1200 people (see here)
