There is no doubt in my mind that retiring Commissioner of Canada Elections William Corbett condoned, or at minimum, turned a blind eye to EC bureaucrats leaking investigation info to certain reporters who shared a hatred of Harper and the Conservatives.
The question now is whether the newly named Commissioner, Yves Cote will bring an end to these systematic leakers? (see here) *noted irony on whose story this is*
Are there some Election Canada media-leaking bureaucrats now worried that a new investigation boss is in place?

You are correct Pissedoff, he should have been booted out the door for this alone.

In his opening statement the Chief Electoral Officer said an internal review had cleared him and his staff, though when Scott Reid on a point of order required him to table the review he quickly downgraded it to “not truly a report, barely a sheet.”
So Mr. Poilievre asked who conducted the review and Mr. Mayrand grudgingly confessed that it was one M. Mayrand.

I hope so. Gonna be a lot of work to restore public confidence in that organization.
Think what you want about Dean del Mastro, but if they specifically targeted an elected MP simply because he was critical of them, that’s beyond wicked and proof this org is running amok.

I sure hope something is done to hold these bureaucrats to account because Canadians are quickly losing confidence in Elections Canada.

Sorry, have no faith in Elections Canada to change until we see it actually happen and that’s unlikely. Mayrand is incompetent or simply as stunned as he looks. What exactly are we getting for our money from this government body?

No! I do not think that that the new commissioner will ruffle feathers so deep entrenched. He might be ordered or warned already on how businesses is run at EC. Meaning, no new guy particularly a conservative if that, is allowed in at EC. Just as no Conservative is allow to host a show at CBC.

It’s a gold line nest of vipers, dumb as rocks but will do anything they can to hurt anyone that disturbs their nest and all it’s perks and pensions. Unionized to the nuts? Probably!!

I have no faith in EC when they decided to allow the votes cast at that unregistered polling station to stand it was clear they have an agenda and in the past couple of elections they seem more concerned with getting liberals to vote than enforcing their own rules. I would like a public inguiry into the actions taken or lack there of at EC in the past ten years.

Yeah, like EC is so diligently with cameras media and police at the NDP for accepting donations from the American Unions that comes from the backs of american workers. Yet EC the media are behind Dean Del Mastro. and for what because he is a conservatives.
So far the EC has yet, yet to go after liberals who still owe money to EC but as usual and to save face as if they are doing something they (EC) instead go after Dean Del Maestro.
Where are the cameras, RCMP, Media on them- Until then EC is just another place organization deeply entrenched with leakers, corruption and what have you.
