How is it possible for every single major Canadian media outlet (who have Washington-based reporters) all miss the largest US political story currently going on?
Barack Obama and his Attorney General Eric Holder are neck-deep in the mess created by the ATF’s Project Gunrunner (see here for the details) yet if you relied on the Canadian media, you wouldn’t have a clue it was happening:
There are over 1700 US news hits when you do a Google search (see here) but zero when you look for it on a Canadian search (see here).
Such an obviously avoidance to report this story from the Canadian private news organizations is despicable but they aren’t obligated the same way as the CBC is and we have the right to demand CBC’s Washington-based reporter Neil Macdonald justify why he has not filed a story about it.
Macdonald updated another story from yesterday (see here) which shows he’s not away on holidays so what is his excuse for not reporting this huge Obama scandal?
As I see it, there are only two reasons available for him, bias or incompetence…

Gee several hundred dead Mexicans, and one border agent dead due to the government selling guns to the drug cartel goons. Any thinking American knows this was just a “2nd Amendment hustle” to justify more gun legislation. And of course conveniently neglected to tell the Mexican government of their dubious ‘covert operation’.
Eric Holder AG and the department went to the 2nd Amendment gaming casino and came up ‘snake eyes’.
Yep they’ll be signing up in droves to become border agents now….0.50 calibre body armour is optional; but the waiver on your life is not!

As for the Canadian media…file under the category ‘somewhere just beyond Hope’.

With tongue in cheek,(but only just) I’d have to venture the opinion that the socialist hoards stick together,both here at home and south of the border

In typically progressive mindset fashion, these people are caught between a rock and a hard spot in that you can’t bolster a stealth war on fire arms on the one hand and then do a 180 turnaround and criticize Holder & Obama for implementing (or at the very least turning a knowing blind eye to) a murderous gun running program into a foreign neighbour’s backyard
.
Its another classicly progressive mindset case of “the end justifies the means”…no matter how unjust the means!
Progressives are dangerous brats…they don’t care what it takes to get the results they desire…they are plain and simply idealogues in the true Alinsky sense.
They have no shame that they did it, only anger at getting caught.
As for the Cdn. msm…I imagine they are brothers in arms if only by standing in the peanut gallery cheering on the good fight for a true just world where all are supposedly equal and none know disappointment nor challenge.
After all in their world, who could possibly need to protect themself…the state takes care of that and everything else!
No…I can’t say that I am overly surprised by our media passing over this one.

To think that when I watch,read a news story, I must hear or sense a reporters political affiliation is offensive. Particularly CBC because I have to pay those idiots salaries. Ironically, despite the knowledge that SNN leans conservative, they definitely give the most balanced NEWS. WE are not talking editorials here, but news. The other networks have turned their NEWS into editorials and it’s garbage, pure garbage!.

Of course, had this been from 4 years ago, and it was Bush’s AG that was found in contempt of congress, the Canadian MSM would’ve taken a pass on the story as they have now. Right!
More disturbing than their choosing not to file reports on certain stories is that they don’t care about about the hypocrisy it projects. In the past, they were embarrassed by accusations that they actively engage in selective news reporting. Now they seem to wear it as a badge of honor. With the alternative media gaining more prominence as an information source, including blogs and citizen journalists — and now a “new” news broadcaster on air, enforcing the very point that they routinely hide stories from Canadians — it seems counterintuitive to continue such selective reporting practices. If I was them, I’d be concerned about my credibility being chipped away on a daily basis. After all, they can’t very well defend against the particular criticism. It’s not subjective-based. You either report a story or you don’t. It’s pretty black and white.
