Clement at the pork again – spends $2.5M in his riding honouring a Commie

Treasury Board President Tony Clement continues spreading taxpayers’ money in his riding the Chretien way (see here) and now proves there is no project that he won’t waste money on if it’s spent in Parry Sound-Muskoka:

Treasury Board President will honour a Marxist martyr when he opens a new $2.5-million visitors’ centre at Bethune Memorial House, in Gravenhurst, Ont. – a popular Parks Canada attraction that lures 15,000 visitors, mostly mainland Chinese and recent immigrants, to the wealthy resort town. (see here)

It’s bad enough that Clement continues embarrassing the Conservatives with his pork-barrel Liberal-like politics but to honour a card-carrying Communist Party of Canada member and a Mao Zedong Useful Idiot, shows us he is completely without principle.

Update: Unbelievably PM Stephen Harper has endorsed this pork-barrelling by Clement

Andrew MacDougall, Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s spokesman, said Wednesday that Parks Canada locations – like where the new visitors centre at the Bethune Memorial House National Historic Site is located – “cover the full spectrum of political actors (and) political thought from Canada’s past.” (see here)

I guess appeasing and sucking up to the Chinese Communists is fully part of the Conservative culture now. Something we use to go ballistic about when the Liberals did it.
