CBC calls Layton/Chow “beloved political power couple” in biopic press release

When the CBC uses public money to produce such blatant politically driven projects like their Jack Layton movie (watch video here), it certainly can’t fit within their mandated guidelines, so how is it possible for them to be involved in any way?

From the National Citizens Coalition:

The National Citizens Coalition is against the Jack Layton propaganda biopic being produced at taxpayer cost by the CBC

Will Heritage Minister James Moore remain silent on yet another obvious abuse of taxpayers’ dollars like he has done so often in the past or will he finally start representing those who voted for him and his Conservative government?

Fricking CBC are at a loss since their Liberals are in a major funk for the foreseeable future so they’re doing the next best thing, latching onto a dead NDP politician knowing they won’t get too much flak. A movie to continue eulogizing smiling Jack at the expense of all Canadians is as crass as it gets. “Beloved” as in dearly beloved, is reserved for family and close friends, or in this case, people of like political bent. The CBC is again showing they have no master, the dance to the beat of their own drummer.
    James Moore, where are you?

James Moore, whom I don’t like, is absolutely right in NOT saying a word about Saint Jack, the patron saint of communists/socialists in Canada.

No, our beloved National Broadcaster shouldn’t have produced this propaganda piece, but they did,and about the only remedy is to quietly dismantle the management at the CBC and replace them with people who know how to run a business.

The Conservatives have to choose their battles wisely, and to diss Saint Jack would be as bad as forcing CBC to produce an anti-Mohammed piece.
As I have said so many times before,Canadians are a delicate bunch, and swift, stern or resolute action against any of our sacred cows will only result in more anti-Conservative propaganda,if that’s possible.

Harper is currently trying a first small step in addressing the Indian Act, and has been met with the usual BS by all the usual suspects. He doesn’t need to take on another meaningless fight while he’s up to his armpits in NG Pipeline and the Native Victims industry.

So THIS time, Mr.Moore has done his best by doing nothing.

    • BC Blue Says:

Moore is getting very good at doing nothing

    • Liz J Says:

He doesn’t need to say anything to just do something and to this point we see no evidence of any change to policy re the CBC, they fly on their own at the Corp. WHY? Exactly as you suggest, a backlash of anti-Conservative propaganda would ensue BUT doing it on the QT and slowly is better than doing nothing.

I fully concur with you Dean…though have to also agree with dmorris as to his succinct observations.
To sum it up: I would have to say that nothing with be accomplished and much undone should Canadians …in a hissy fit, foolishly abandon the CPC for the party of Jack.
In few words, Canada would not survive.

    JMHO

Moore is useless anyhow…. he’s currently too busy traveling the country throwing our money around coddling up to the very expensive parasites in the french language industry. I guess the CBC’s endless, nauseatingly bad movies and mini-series about revolutionary, crypto commie Pierre Turdo have reached an end… so it’s time to switch the propaganda parade to another commie “hero”, and who better then lyin Jack layton. The Communist Broadcasting Corporation deliberately spitting in our faces and declaring… ” yeah, so what”… “we’ll spend your money how ever we want”. To which James Moore replies… “Go for it”! James Moore… CINO.
