BC Rail lobbyist memo shows Christy Clark lied about discussing deal in cabinet – media silent

It’s now been two days since blogger Alex Tsakumis posted the BC Rail briefing note from Pilothouse lobbyists Brian Kieran and Erik Bornman that confirms Christy Clark clearly lied about recusing herself from all Liberal cabinet discussions on BC Rail, yet not a single mention so far in the media:

The provincial cabinet met June 18th to receive an update on the federal-provincial jurisdiction over BC Rail…Minister of Transportation Judith Reid made the presentation…

At the meeting two cabinet ministers spoke out against  the Minister of Transportation’s presentation: Minister of Education and Deputy Premier Christy Clark and Attorney General Geoff Plant. (see here)

This is the 2nd memo that Tsakumis has presented exposing Clark’s lie (see here) yet not a word about it in the media.

Love to hear from those journos who constantly defend and claim that the media are unbiased, don’t work as a like-minded group and get their panties-in-a-bunch when I dare to lump them all as the same.

This is why you will not hear anything from MSM media. Below are remarks made by Keith Baldrey in an interview with CKNW’s Bill Good, Tuesday, June 26th, 2012, the day after Alex Tsakumis’ initial release of the Basi memo. I doubt very much if anything has changed.

“Uh Dave uhhh I got a lot of time for both guys but Dave has made a number of allegations and assertions over the years that have never been substantiated have never been proven or have been proven wrong he has been basically his credibility I think is obviously shaken severely by the fact that court in court he admitted to lying and to fraud so the credibility of that person [Basi] obviously is under a cloud and so anything he says in regards to BC Rail right now having experienced a lot of the things that he said over the years I have to take with a giant grain of salt so when when a memo written by him emerges um where he [Basi] purports to make to say something happened considering his track record on this, as a journalist, I have to put that up against a very skeptical lens and say well just because he[Basi] said something happened given the track record here I’d have to say that it does not mean that that particular assertion actually occurred and so as a journalist and certainly as someone who um plays a role on Global’s Newshour in determining what I report I’m just not going to put that out there, I’m not going to put my name to it I don’t think it’s I don’t think it’s a story if you want to call it that that stands up purely on the basis of what Dave Basi has to say and I know that you mentioned a number of other journalists came to the same conclusion. I talked to a lot of reporters yesterday it’s an interesting issue and again kudos to Alex for for keeping this story alive but uh from our point of view, and I am not the only one a lot of senior political journalists came to the same conclusion that just because David Basi said something does not mean that it’s true and given his track record and his lack of credibility that the courts have established uh it rings even less true.

Okay, now it is no longer “purely on the basis of what Dave Basi has to say” but what Kieran and Bornman have written on Pilothouse letterhead.

So what is MSM excuse now? Better yet, what is the excuse for we BC Conservatives not being all over this issue, especially when we have the one sitting MLA who has intervenor status in Auditor General’s case to get documents from AG on $6million men?

The media are just as guilty as Klark and other Liberals are in the continuing cover up regarding the sell off of BC Rail. Baldry and his fellow media comrades will make up any and all excuses to NOT talk about the BC Rail scandal, just like the BC Liberals. The corruption inherent within the media is just as odious and obvious as the inherent corruption of the BC Libs. The corrupt media enables corruption within the political sphere… very third world.

Never mind the MSM. Where are the RCMP in all this? There are serious charges to be laid and they are mysteriously silent.
