On CBC’s The National, Adrienne Arsenault tried her best to spin after catching Chief Theresa Spence leaving for a hotel yesterday:
“She’s sworn off solid foods but she’s far from allowing herself to being trapped on the island” –
Audio asking Spence:
“Just going to have a shower and a little lie down?” (see here 2:20 mark)
No questions about how much time Spence is really spending on the island in the tipi that we have been told many, many times by the media she is staying (see here) nor does Arsenault follow her to see which hotel she went to and interview the hotel staff to find out how often they see her like a real investigative reporter would do.
The Media Party have their anti-Harper hero and are not going to do anything to ruin it.

What she’s doing is nothing short of blackmailing the Prime Minister and the taxpaying people of this country.
The PM will meet with Chiefs but she’s going to continue the “hunger strike” charade. That tells all.

What is happening with the fact that she earns $70,000 a year (pays no taxes). The bands own shares (millions) in Apple and a Chinese Telephone Company… it was on 1010 CFRB today …. what is wrong with our news people are they hearing the same.. why not tell us the truth about that RICH indian Band and all the money they have for all sort of Arena and not important stuff…… and act like beggers ….

I am deeply disappointed that the some FN have not regarded this gathering as meaniful to say something to Spence in our behalf – the taxpayers. Nor did they take the opportunity to talk to Chief Spence letting her know that she indeed received millions of dollars from the fed gov from the general public that was ‘supposed to be used on and for her people.
Instead, what we see is a ‘gang up’ on the gov for selfish reason.
If the FN have no use then what the government should do is revert back to the ways the liberals under Trudeau and chretein dealt with the NATIVES and NO MORE. Erase everything what this CPC has done new for the natives. Give the same amount of money the liberals gave and not a dime more.

When this problem with Attawaspikat reserve started, the government tried to send in a outside financial manager; Theresa Spence argued against it with the support of Charley Angus. It gave the impression that Spence ws trying to hide something and Charlie Angus want the real suffering natives to remain obvilious to the whole truth behind Chief Spence wasting money on frivilous nonsense.
This whole mess is not the fed gov fault at the way Chief Spence treats her people. If the innocent natives under her care ‘DO ‘ become aware of their situation is been exploiterated to suit political parties for votes and their chief’s personal gain, is when and only when things will ever change in the reserves.
