Ottawa Press Gallery finally catching up on Trudeau’s speaking gigs

trudeau

The disgraceful and obscene amounts of money Liberal leader wannabe Justin Trudeau makes booking himself as a speaker is not newly known as for example, I blogged about it back in July 2010 (see here)

Nice to finally see the Press Gallery catch up with us lowly bloggers but now will they also look into who paid for Trudeau’s Okanagan Occupy speaking event hosted by the Council of Canadians? (see here)

Tell me that Trudeau didn’t charge his $20,000 going rate fee to a group dedicated to anti-capitalism.

Update: Bombshell! Sun’s David Akin is reporting that 2 other Liberal MPs have made money on speaking gigs and that Trudeau was away from Parliamentary business on at least 9 occasions (see here)

Update: A must see segment from Sun News’ Ezra Levant on Trudeau billing universities for speeches while being the Liberal post secondary education critic and how the Media Party tried to cover it up for him (see here)

I see trudeau cut his hair…does that mean I should see him as issue serious now and reconsider my vote ?!!

  2. Fay Says:

I am surprised the school boards have that much money to waste ???

    • BC Blue Says:

Every single school board member and other public official who ok’ed Trudeau’s speaking gigs should be removed.

      • Fay Says:

Not sure how the ethic commissioner can approve Liberal MP’s skipping out of parliamentary votes to earn speaking fees for extra income?

    • LynnS Says:

I prefer to think of it as deer in the headlight syndrome. No doubt brought on by the shinyness of the Trudeau name. Just pony up $20K for Justin to campaign stump at your school as a subject matter expert on himself and you too can wonder about in a daze.

  3. Broadside Broad (@Prue61) Says:

Dean, it’s the last sentence that just kills me…LOL!

  4. Liz J Says:

There will be nothing said about Junior Trudeau’s speaking fees, actually ‘”fees” is the wrong word at those prices. The person who cleared the amounts, the so-called “Ethics Commish” may need to give his head a shake.

Trudeau is well on his way to leading the Liberals but where he leads them will depend on the people of this country. If we have all lost our ability to determine what’s common sense and reason he may well lead us into a global laughing stock.

School boards have no business paying politicians to speak to students , they’re already in our service and speaking engagements should be part of their mandate. Aside from the fact they have no business promoting any member, especially Trudeau who the students might vote for for all the wrong reasons.

  5. Jen Says:

What could Trudeau possibly discuss at those speaking engagements when he can’t seem to answer a simple question without flairing up.
Does JT charge his constituents to represent them in HOC where he is VERY VERY rarely is at.
When was the time we ever saw and heard JT in a serious debate in HOC concerning his constituents.
How many votes has JT voted on in the HOC.

  6. Jen Says:

How much in the thousands of dollars does Justin charge CBC CTV to look dumb even thought they are dumb?

  7. Bocanut Says:

Can anyone confirm the rumours that Trudeau charged fellow Liberals for appearance fees in the last election?

  8. blamecrash@yahoo.ca Says:

Not only is it a tactic to get around the election laws, it can also serve as money laundering operation for kick backs and other forms of graft. It’s just the “same old-same old” with these get-rich-quick Liberal Party schemers.

Meanwhile, back at Elections Canada headquarters, they are hard at work putting on their deaf, dumb and blind ploy. After all we know who they’re working for and it sure ain’t the people of Canada! Those buggers are up to no good, that’s for sure!

  9. Bec Says:

I just want to gag when I hear that Justin charges $$ to speak. If it’s not a fundraiser for a charity, it’s just obscene that he has made it a sideline income.
If he weren’t HIM, no one would pay a red cent to hear HIM. Don’t they have a word to describe this ‘selling yourself’ stuff?

  10. Nicola Timmerman Says:

Still wondering where all that Pierre Trudeau money went – did he give it away to Catholic institutions to pray for his soul? He was a cheapskate while he was alive, so he can’t have spent it on others.

  11. Dirt Says:

So is CBC paying him a thousand dollars a minute to appear on CBC, same for CTV??? Makes me vicious that our taxpayer funded educational systems would waste money paying him a fortune to speak when he has very little knowledge of the real world.

  12. Liz J Says:

With school boards crying for more and more money and kids running around selling chocolate bars to raise money for school trips etc,it boggles the mind they’d see fit to pay to hear Trudeau or any politician garble off about nothing.
It also boggles the mind the people would take this outrage without a whimper. Did our school boards not also pay Gore and Suzuki for their out propaganda?

  13. Liz J Says:

BTW, in the picture accompanying this thread, doesn’t Justin look an awful lot like his Poppa? Perhaps its the short haircut emphasize his higher cheeky bones?

  14. LynnS Says:

God, if the shirt was unbuttoned any lower; he’d be looking at this navel.

    • Liz J Says:

Doesn’t hurt to unbutton to cause a few mindless voters to have a tingle up the leg, whatever it takes to get votes OR in his case draw attention away from what’s coming out of his mouth.

  15. Brian Mouland Says:

So besides having nice hair, the ability to do a great Guy Fawkes impression and the questionable talent to win a charity boxing match with an out of shape figher. What can he offer think I just answered my own question.

  16. Media Party very unhappy with Conservative’s Trudeau ad | BC Blue: One BC Conservative's view on it all... Says:
