Election Canada: Like a dog on a bone when it comes to going after the Conservatives

Election Canada has decided, for what I would say has to do with a vendetta against the Conservative Party of Canada, to appeal the decision on GST rebates.

Election Canada lost the case when “Mr. Justice Herman Wilton-Siegel ruled that Parliament never intended to treat the GST rebate for non-profit organizations – including political parties – as a “subsidy.” but “Elections Canada says the ruling doesn’t jibe with its interpretation of the law.” (see full story here)

EC has to stall or the LPC may have to pay back their GST on top of their long overdue election loans.

Meanwhile they give a pass to all those Liberal leadership candidates who haven’t ponied up the money they owe. Oh, I know the Election Canada says the funds will be deducted from the Liberal war chest to make up the balance.
If you believe that, please contact me, I’ve got some beautiful ocean front property in Saskatchewan that I’m willing to sell cheap.

So, EC is going to court so they can refund the several million the conservatives just repaid them. That will buy a lot of pre election ads.

p.s. guess that Mary can’t handle the truth.

For Elections Canada: dura lex – sed lex. Their “interpretation” of law is superceded by the decision of the courts.

My “interpretation” of the Latin is “It’s a tough -but it IS the law. Suck it up you Librano-driven nancyboy stooge!”
