Probation for honour killing? What the heck was this judge thinking?

A stunning judgement was handed down by Justice Sal LoVecchio in the case of Aset Magomadova who strangled her 14-year-old daughter with a scarf (oh, the irony).

LoVecchio gave Magomadova a 3 year probation citing that:

“At this point, putting her in jail would speak more to vengeance than anything else”

This is also the same judge who ruled that he wouldn’t allow 2nd-degree murder charges to be laid against her.

According to him, murdering your daughter is OK as long as you are a

“Chechen refugee, [who]has suffered greatly in her life, escaping her war-torn homeland to seek a better life for herself, Aminat and her terminally ill son.”

Does this idiotic judge not see the irony of someone seeking a better life for their daughter in a Western country only to then kill that same child over her adaptation to it? (see article here)

Ottawa Sun repeats call to kick Senator Nuefeld out of Conservative caucus

I couldn’t agree more that ex-BC Liberal cabinet minister Richard Neufeld should have been removed immediately for changing his tune on an elected senate just 18 months after getting the plum appointment.

Neufeld represents what is wrong with the Senate, non-deserving hacks that are only in it for themselves.

Making things even worse, he now claims that his quotes were “not fairly represented in the media.” How is “Since I have been here, I am not sure that an elected Senate is the way to go” a misrepresentation of his words? This guy can’t even stand by his own flip-flops.

He’s an embarrassment to the Conservative Party and should be shown the door for being the Liberal that he truly is. (see editorial here)

Will Iffy’s “Just Visiting Express” Tour make a stop to support criminally charged candidate Steve Pickard?

Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff shows exactly how hypocritical he is when it comes to wanting the Conservative Party to hold its candidates to standards that he won’t even come close to meeting with his own.

The comparison is Conservative MP Devinder Shory who is caught up in a blanket lawsuit issued by the Bank of Montreal. Even when no charges have been laid, Iffy had Liberal MP John McKay demanding:

“Certainly, the Bank of Montreal regards this [matter] as serious and credible. The RCMP and the Calgary police regard it as serious and credible; the Law Society of Alberta regards it as serious and credible.

“The only person who seems to think this is not serious and credible is the prime minister. When will the member from Calgary Northeast be removed from this Conservative caucus?”

Now, let’s cut to Iffy when asked whether Steve Pickard, who has actually been charged with assault, forcible confinement and four counts of uttering threats, will remain a Liberal candidate?:

“I have no comment. This is before the courts and we’ll let that process play out”

This is the type of “leadership” that Canadians can expect if, God forbid, Iffy becomes PM. (see story here)
