My letter to Liberal MLA Terry Lake

Terry Lake
MLA Kamloops-North Thompson

Your efforts to dig up dirt on anti-HST organizers smacks of McCarthyism.
Do you feel that your constituents believe that your time is best spent combing personal Facebook pages, websites and blogs instead of working to represent them?  Has any public resources been used by you, including staff and equipment, to carry out these smear campaigns of private citizens?

You ask Bill Vander Zalm to be responsible for people associated with the anti-HST petition.

“I’d like to know if he defends what these people are saying and what they believe in

“If Mr. Vander Zalm wants to be the self-styled leader of some sort of populist movement then he can’t have it both ways. You have to take responsibility for those that you’re leading”

With this logic, your boss Gordon Campbell is responsible for every nutbar, fanatic or criminal that holds a Liberal membership including those on the the stand at the BC Rail trial. On a more direct comparison, is Young BC Liberal member Zach Poturica who likened Bill Vander Zalm to a child molester, a responsibility of Campbell?

“Vander Zalm to politics is what Michael Jackson was to children”

Do you accept the same criteria for Gordon Campbell as you do for Bill Vander Zalm?

Dean Skoreyko
2009 BC Conservative MLA candidate Vernon-Monashee

Update: Vander Zalm’s people noticed Poturica’s Tweet here

Media turning on anti-HST forces

The media has started attacking the messenger. You knew it was coming eventually but Bill Vander Zalm and his side kick Chris Delaney need to take some of the blame for leaving themselves so wide open for this.

Vander Zalm has obvious political baggage but his boxing photo montage was an incredibly stupid and egotistical move. You couldn’t wave a bigger red cape  enticing the media to charge.

Then you have Delaney’s recent announcement that he accepted the offer to be the spokesperson for the newly created BC First Party. His political aspirations were one of the worse kept political secrets in BC.

Delaney should not have used the HST petition nor recall threat as a vehicle for an undeclared candidacy. He should have been at least straight up with his intentions while he was involved with the petition and in no way should have driven the recall initiative regardless.

Watch for more hit-pieces like this one from Gary mason.

Harper OK’ed anti-Macleans “Quebec Nation” motion?

Because the vote last night on the motion condemning Macleans magazine for its Quebec corruption article was passed by voice, we as voters, do not know who was there during this ridiculous Quebec pandering from MPs.

Did PM Stephen Harper give his assent to this motion that read?

“That this House, while recognizing the importance of vigorous debate on subjects of public interest, expresses its profound sadness at the prejudice displayed and the stereotypes employed by Maclean’s Magazine to denigrate the Quebec nation, its history and its institutions.”
