Macleans’ Savage calls Sun News “Skank TV”

After the misogynistic comments (see here), the Mean Girls are now out in full force trashing the women of Sun News.

Tasha Kheiriddin from the National Post was the first to chime in complaining that she, as a “small c-conservative,” is offended by the clothing worn by the Sun News women ie “low-cut, sleeveless and yuck” (see here).

How dare Sun News use attractive women as it’s not say standard practice in every news organization to put good looking women on their anchor desks or weather reports right?

Then showing solidarity forever against these hussies, we get the classy Tweet from Macleans’ Luiza Savage who calls the Sun News women “skanks”. For those not familiar with this term, it means to be a slut or whore.

So, I guess we are now free to surmise how Kheiriddon and Savage got to where they currently are in the media World?

Update: I just saw Tasha Kheiriddin on CBC’s Power and Politics as a panelist and the host, Evan Solomon went out of his way to congratulate her on her column today.

If Jane Taber’s moronic giggling,Lisa Laflame’s 60’s hairdo,Rosemary Barton’s annoying screech,Wendy Mesley and Kady O’malley’s desperate attempts to be cutesy-woosty at their age,the incomprehensable rantings of Suhanna Marchand are examples of outstanding female journalism then give me Sun TV gals anyday.

The shows need some fine tuning but the attacks on female Conservatives should have been anticipated.

    • Jen Says:

CS, O/t, who in the hell is paying for the liberals attack ads and the half hour air time which the liberal bought on GLOBAL.
The liberals ranted and accused the conservatives of using TAX PAYERS money to pay for the Conservatives ads when in truth it was the conservatives donation money that way for the ads.
But, not here with the Liberals and NDP for that matter.
It cost millions to run an ad and it seems to me that for the Liberals for spend billions on attacks every minute of the day has to come from somewhere and since the liberals still owe us 40million dollars why are they not paying us instead.
EC is a dud and rigged strictly used now for the coalition party.
So, don’t expect them to go after the liberals on the attack ads expenditures. Something smell huge here.

  4. wilson Says:

Ms Tasha was at one time a television producer at CBC Newsworld.

    Silly me,
I did not expect the msm to personally attack ONLY the women on SunTV.
But they are PROGRESSIVES and that is what progressives do, attack women.

Shame on Tasha Kherriddin and who ever Skank Savage is.
    You are an embarrassment.

  5. Liz J Says:

Women attacking other women on their appearance, how catty, how petty. Shame on them.

  6. Paul Says:

Surmise? So PC. No doubt a couple pf hotties like them were in demand for just their ‘minds’.

  7. Rob C Says:

Jealousy is such a nasty thing especially from “bocanut list” who have to reach up to touch bottom in the looks ,dress and deportment department.
    moose and squirrel…..

  8. Foxtrot Bravo Says:

Funny, I don’t know many guys in business who walk around with their shirt buttons undone as low as Savage’s in the picture above.

  9. Agent Smith Says:

Skank TV? – this conclussion after after 2 days?

I saw nothing untoward wardobwise except one gal wore a yellow blouse – something brighter than what i’m used to seeing on other channels. And oh my word ‘sleeveless’ yeah, u heard me ‘sleevless”…sheesh.

Nothing I saw would be remotely the equivalent to as Kheiriddon puts it: ‘a side of T and A..’ My Schoolmarm senses are beginning to tingle…

  10. Hans Rupprecht Says:

    Hilarious stuff there BC Blue…

When the SUNTV gals start delivering their news in g-strings and bikini tops then the so called ‘criticisms’ may have some validity.

I suppose they are cranky because they are not as good looking?

I gather sleeveless is now equivalent to showing too much ankle in the Victorian era.

Besides not enough exposed skin results in Hypovitaminosis D
Deficiency results in impaired bone mineralization and leads to bone softening diseases including rickets in children and osteomalacia and osteoporosis in adults.[1]

Besides you wouldn’t want to kill the fashion industry!

  12. Todd Golden Says:

Nothing to worry about . . just a few complaining about other beautiful women with talent.

  13. Alain Says:

A deadly case of jealousy and envy is all this amounts to. First of all not only are people free not to watch SunNews, they are also not forced to fund it contrary to the CBC.

  14. Stan Says:

They said if SunTV went ahead we would see more hate and hear more misogynist comments, and they were right!

  15. Stan Says:

The women on Sun are all attractive and intelligent so for balance they should hire ******* ******?

  16. dmorris Says:

I guess they had to find SOMETHING to criticize about the TV channel they’ve dreaded for so long.

As to “how they got their jobs”, a read of Allan Fotheringham’s “Birds of a Feather” mentions that several of the women in the Canadian TV business climbed the ladder in that uniquely womanly way,and he makes specific mention of one.

And a few years back, one of the CTV ‘s aging cuties sued the Network because she’d been dropped as News Anchor even though she’d had sex with the station manager.

I’m sure many Vancouver viewers will remember the case.

SunTV looks a bit SCTV-ish so far,but the criticisms mentioned on this post just don’t stand up as anything more than bitchiness by their detractors.

  17. badbeta Says:

Ms. Kheiriddin looks to me like a harridan. 🙂

  18. Bec Says:

I’m embarrassed for these women and their shallow statements.
The Women in the Sun TV chairs are fresh, alive, talented, smart and they happen to be gorgeous! These ‘meow-zers’, forget the first 4 things and focused on the last. That’s what ‘progressive’ has done in all these years? They can have it!

Wear what you want Ladies and wear it proudly!

  19. Duane Says:

Is it just me or is this nonsense about the way the Sun News anchors dress just a little ironic coming a few days after Slut Walk?

    • BC Blue Says:

Shhh…don’t remind Heather Mallick et al that feminism is also for the good-looking women who are comfortable with their sexuality

  20. E Mac Says:

Some of the women complaining about SUN TVs girls leave much to be desired.
I can think of a few of them who likely have a license plate attached to their a, a, a, a, a, – I’m not allowed to say it! LOL

  21. TangoJuliette Says:

The enlightened progressive nanny statists. When they take over the country, they,a.k.a. “Big Mother,” will be more than happy to have their State-Run Fashion Police tell all of us plebes just exactly what we must wear, I’m sure.

What? China beat them to it?

Typically libby – a half century late and a few stitches short. The only thing the libranos can handle would be a bag filled with full, plump brown envelopes, and a two-car funeral cortege for their party that still, semmingly, doesn’t have the brains to lie down.

  22. Ontario Girl Says:

Looks like someone can’t wear sleeveless. Bat wing arms maybe? Sun News TV girls are georgeous. Eat your hearts out CBC/CTV/GLOBAL/CPAC. Stick to Mansbridge and Soloman, Martin and Pierre and Mark Sutcliff….YUKKKKK. Too funny….lol

  23. Louise M. Says:

The SunTV ladies make my gender proud. Beautiful, talented and self-assured is what I think of them. Everything I always wanted to be.

  24. Dirt Says:

Typical the Red Tories attack attractive females and the Liberal Media applaud them for it, poor Tasha she’s using the NP to claw her way into liberal media perhaps?

  25. Midnight Says:

Envy and bitterness … those words seem to sum up the “progressive” attitude. For years, if not eternity. I almost feel sorry for them.
Perhaps their greatest punishment is to live in their own self-made hell. 🙂

  26. Renegade Tory Says:

I read Tasha’s article in the Post and it was rather stupid… she just sounded jealous of atractive women being on tv, get over yourself lady!

    • BC Blue Says:

Was just checking out the comment section from her column and I have never seen a NP columnist get ripped so badly as she did.

  27. Stan Says:

I wonder if Tasha has ever appeared on air in anything sleeveless?
I got a feeling I’ve seen her bare arms on TV….

  29. Barb R. Says:

Skank TV? It is now offensive to have attractive women WITH BRAINS on the air?! Heaven forbid that we should judge the content of their characters and force of their opinions. Hell no, we shall judge based on the height of their hemlines and the lows of their necklines.

I suppose all females with opinions should look like butch lesbians with buzz cuts and chronic constipation.

Baby, we HAVEN”T come a long way.
