Liberal MP uses disgusting sexual phrase “golden shower”

The Parliamentary language fell to an all-time low yesterday when Liberal MP Scott Brison said this to Minister John Baird over the idiotic issue of business cards:

“When Canadians are struggling just to get by, why are Conservative ministers showering each other with gold? Why the golden showers?”

And how did the Ottawa Press Gallery react to this shocking reference to the sexual practice of urinating on a partner for sexual gratification or for sexual humiliation?

Here’s how a couple of them responded back to me when I Tweeted about it:

Dale Smith who lists himself as Journalist in the Canadian Parliamentary Press Gallery – @bcbluecon Dude, seriously. It was a joke. Get over it.

Paul Macleod Ottawa Bureau Chief Halifax Chronicle – @bcbluecon I’m with @journo_dale, it was funny. Let’s not all kill ourselves with seriousness here.

The Star’s Tonda MacCharles was the only journo I have found that tracked down Brison for an explanation to which he clearly lies about having any knowledge that it was sexually related:

‘Brison later denied any inappropriate language.’

“They’re showering gold on each other,” he repeated. “I think it’s inappropriate.”

‘He said he “wasn’t aware of” the fact that the phrase has another meaning.’ (see here)

Just don’t expect the likes of Smith and Macleod to care unless of course it was a Conservative.

Dale Smith — “Dude, seriously. It was a joke. Get over it.”

Yeah dude, you are soooo like…. harshing my mellow

Tell me urinalist, would it be such a minor issue if it had not been said by a gay Liberal? Get lost idiot.

All part of the new civility!

Wait ’til he finds out that “scat” doesn’t just refer to Ella Fitzgerald’s singing style . . .

  4. john Says:

Oh! by the way, Dale Smith of the the PPG? I remember how the big, tough paliamentry press gallery was BOYCOTTING Harper a copuple of years ago. How did that all work out for you? ROTFLMAO!

Remember, the next time you urinalists want to boycott someone – the public pretty much hates your guts so don’t expect their support.

Gay politicians are untouchable. Ten times as untouchable if they are lefty.

They can say anything, do anything and, if the MSM reacts – at all. It will take several years to finally do so.

Svend Robinson was a liar & a thief & he kept up his garbage for years before the MS finally managed to whimper out a protest or two.

Journalists are unashamed cowards. They know what groups & individuals they can attack without fear of reprisal. Gay politicians? Oopsy, better not even approach THAT ONE!

I am sure Brison would know all about a golden shower.

Scooter is such an innocent, he wouldn’t know anything about “golden shower”, yeah, right, and Dalton McGuinty never lies to get elected. He also was asked by Shelly Glover to apologize for something he said on Don Martin’s show this week, he garbled something that really wasn’t a direct apology.

Actually I think Scooter isn’t all that happy, things are not so much fun being a member of the third party.

Anyhow, no story here, he’s Liberal, he’s gay, he’s untouchable, he knows it, and expect more of the same. If he were a Conservative, period, it would be plastered in all the newsprint and on the airwaves, that’s all it would take for the journalists to do their damned jobs.

  8. Rosie Says:

Liberals are like that–they can say or do anything–nothing sticks to them. Look at McGuinty–he has a campaign manager talking about bribing homeless people for their vote. McGuinty says–it’s only a joke!

  9. Adrian Says:

It’s difficult to believe he didn’t know the meaning. Having said that, it was mildly funny. YMMV.

  10. Bubba Brown Says:

I agree it’s not funny at all especially coming from a member of the third place party.
After all 81% of Canadians did not vote Liberal, they still are trying with the help of their peanut press gallery to appear relevant.
was it not Mr Brison that thought Canadians could not be trusted with their own money, that they would blow it on beer and popcorn?
A small man in a small irrelevant, moribund, sad excuse for a political party. IMHO
    Cheers Bubba

Kudos to Brison! I think that’s the best laugh I’ve had all day.

As for it being “unparliamentary”… that’s a matter of opinion. A rather stuffy and prudish one, I’d suggest. Even Winston Churchill was known to make some fairly racy and politely vile comments in the Commons back in the day when dressing down (so to speak) his opponents.

    • john Says:

Of course RED “tory” would find it harmless, for the reasons already listed above. Brison is a weasel and uses his protected special status as a shield to silence criticism.

RED “tory” wouldn’t find it harmless if a conservative mp had said it. He would be foaming at the mouth with the usual feigned outrage.

      • Liz J Says:

Chalk it up to peckerheaded guttersniping. It still is not amusing or appropriate coming from a member of parliament.

If that’s the track Brison’s brain is on it’s time he moved on, that statement didn’t come out of the blue.
