Star joins Postmedia in running pathetic story attacking Con MPs’ anti-bullying video

Tim Harper of the Toronto Star joins Thandi Fletcher of Postmedia in a disgusting attempt to take an innocent effort and turn it into an anti-Conservative angle (see here).

Same as Fletcher, Harper uses Dan Savage as a source denouncing the Conservatives but absent in both stories were Savage’s prior statements of extreme violence:

“I wish the Republicans were all ****ing dead.”

“Carl Romanelli should be dragged behind pickup truck until there’s nothing left but the rope.”

But that of course would have gotten in the way of these hit-pieces and shown who the real hypocrites were.

Thanks for the quotes. Until I read your column, I didn’t realize Savage had said such … barbarous things.

Now, thanks to you, I know that he did. And that he publicly renounced them shortly afterwards.

There’s no taking back words like that. They aren’t a slip of the tongue

Absolutely, such horrible screed cannot be taken back, no apologies accepted. It’s the sort of stuff to make one’s skin crawl, an example of seething hatred gone amok.

The Left cannot bear to watch Conservatives do and say anything that runs counter to their portrayal of them as bigots and homophobics.

The answer to hateful speech is more and better speech. Also, forgive the mouthpieces this day their daily bread.

I guess Tim Harper Thandee Flecher ignorance have not heard Jack Layton’s video on “it gets better’ and he is not gay.
Where is the outcry on this one.

  3. Bec Says:

Is this kind of behaviour not an adult form of ‘bullying’? Just sayin’!

Being in the media party appears to excuse and then permit all kinds of brass knuckle, mouth vitrol.

  4. Liz J Says:

From Chris Selley in the National Post front page today: “Pettiness makes nothing better”, “Response to Tory video sounds a lot like bullying”.

Those pulling the hypocrisy card over an issue like this are proving their agenda comes first.

  5. NP runs “balanced” column to condemn Con MPs’ anti-bullying video « BC Blue: One BC Conservative's view on it all… Says:

[…] Chris Selley’s piece (see here) which completely tears apart the idiotic and hypocritical criticisms from the anti-Conservative Ottawa Press Gallery members and their cohorts, they print this by […]
