Photos: Liberal Senator and his 23-year-old trophy wife shooting handgun

Besides being creeped-out by a 69-year-old marrying a 23-year-old, my political interest was peaked when I saw these two photos from former Liberal bagman and now senator, Rod Zimmer’s wife’s Facebook profile.

What was the Liberal Party’s position on gun control again?

Here’s a quote from the Liberal Prime Minister who appointed Zimmer:

Paul Martin: “I’ve come to the conclusion that significant change is needed. I’ve come to the conclusion that we should ban handguns”

Also: For more of their photos including those taken inside the Parliamentary building as well as her party pics (see story here)

Update: I’m being told that the shotgun is possibly a Benelli M4 which is used by the US troops in Iraq (see here) and video of how rapidly it fires:

So cute, out with Gramps for target practice. Of course the guns would be registered and locked up when not in use…..

Doesn’t look like the shotgun you take out to knock down the odd grouse, duck or clay pigeon to me.

How it was described to me:

“Definitely close range swat, home defense, zombie defense shotgun. 5 in the mag and 1 in the chamber.”

Shotgun looks like a Mossberg. I don’t think its a Benelli but its definitely tricked out. I doubt they bought that over the counter. Handgun is a Ruger 22/45 I think. Basic 22 calibre semi auto target pistol. Hypocrisy aside, these people shouldn’t be demonized because of the guns they are shooting nor should any of us fall into the Liberal mindset of demonizing the guns because of how they look. If they were shooting at an approved range and have all the paperwork then they are doing the same thing that hundreds of thousands of Canadians do every weekend. I think we should applaud the fact that Liberals are starting to embrace the shooting sports. (Even though they are probably just being hypocritical.)

  4. BDFT Says:

Actually, hundreds of thousands is pretty high. But considering the seven million plus gun owners in Canada, tens of thousands wouldn’t be a stretch.

I got $5.00 says he’s got one of those impossible to get concealed carry permits which are forbidden to the plebs.

BDFT,I don’t know if the good Senator is being hypocritical, he may just be worried about the safety of his cute little trophy wife when he’s away.
In his position,I’d train her on Defenders and pistols, too. As you say,the more the merrier.

We hunters/sport shooters spent the better part of 20 years being pariahs in Canada,so seeing anyone from the Ruling Elite take up arms is a welcome sight. Today,Mrs.Zimmer, tomorrow,Wendy Cukier!

We F&G club members should send the Senator and his wife a supply of that well-known organ stiffener for their anniversary.

  7. marco Says:

Aw come on, who doesn’t have fond memories of going shooting with gramps?

  8. Brian Mouland Says:

Probably has socks older than she is
