Global warming alarmist sitting inside Conservative caucus

braid

Kitchener-Waterloo Conservative MP Peter Braid is why you never blindly support someone just because they represent your political party:

In what is being considered a first by a member of the federal Conservatives, Kitchener-Waterloo MP Peter Braid stated publicly on CBC News Network’s Power and Politics that recent extreme weather and climate change are connected.

“We are seeing the effects, the impacts of climate change,” Braid told host Evan Solomon on Monday. “With climate change comes extreme weather events. We saw that through the floods in southern Alberta, we’re now seeing that with the ice storms in Kitchener-Waterloo and Toronto, with the extreme cold across the country.”

Solomon later asked Braid to confirm he was saying that extreme weather and climate change are related, to which Braid replied, “Absolutely, I’m confirming I said that.” (see here)

Braid is the reason why we see things like the moronic light bulb ban (see here) come out of this Conservative government.

If I was in this riding, I would be doing everything that I could to ensure Braid is defeated in the next nomination race.

Also: Braid was the MP who Sun News’s Brian Lilley caught celebrating the opening a new CBC branch (see here)

It seems there are renegades in every party. Thanks for getting the word out, Blue! While there are natural cyclic periods in the eons of years re. weather patterns and doomsday devices like ice ages, there isn’t a whole lot to be done by puny man to avoid them. Let each generation responsibly and calmly “ride the storm out”, without trying to sow vain seeds for political hay.

about the only thing braid confirmed was his lack of knowledge.

The Grand Banks Earthquake-Tsunami (1929), Hurricane Hazel (1954) even the Great Ice Storm (1998) all appear to be before the period of climate change hysteria. All these events dwarf the examples put forward here. Extreme cold in Canada, in Jan? Be serious please. Google up the Great Lakes Storm 1913 for sober facts on deaths, 250, ship sinking 19 damages $118 M and so on.
People like Braid are not interested in facts as much as theories to push their own agenda.

There are a lot of people including conservatives like myself that agree that we are experiencing changes in the patterns of the earth’s climate which may also have an effect on our weather patterns. These changes have nothing to do with so-called “global warming” or CO2 emissions. They could be a result of the sun’s activity or simply sent as a challenge from our deity. They may be neither permanent nor progressing in a straight line. Calling out an MP because they express this view is a bit like witch burning (with CO2 offsets of course). If I may say your attitude and tone is the very mirror image of a “warmist” calling out a “denier” on the issue.

BTW: In the same vein-MP Patrick Brown makes his life about giving to good causes in the spirit of the Basilians. Please try to be calm.

Piece in Canada Free Press today:
Conservative MP Braid must learn from real scientists before speaking out on climate change

    By Tom Harris

Appearing on CBC News Network’s Power and Politics on Monday, Conservative MP (Kitchener-Waterloo) and Parliamentary Secretary for Infrastructure and Communities, Peter Braid linked recent extreme weather events to climate change. This was a serious mistake.

Climate change has little if anything to do with recent extreme weather. This is one of the few areas of agreement between the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC).

Are the Conservatives being taken over from within? Who is this moron Braid? The climate changes… well duh… but to equate changes in weather patterns to “man made global warming” is preposterously idiotic, and unproven! The whole global warming meme is a fools game, championed by dishonest fools and con men, and believed by the terminally naive. The Conservatives should be standing apart from the prophets of doom and wealth redistribution and stop treating citizens like open mouthed children who only serve to be shaken down by the Government, leave that cynical elitist game to the “progressives” (Marxists) Liberals. Canadians need an alternative to the elitist nit-wittery of the Liberal “progressives” not more of the same. Let the Liberal “progressives” (Marxists) sell the narrative that they can control the weather through higher taxation, and let the Conservatives be the alternative to that ridiculously cynical shake down.

The CPC is being infiltrated by liberals in the same way the PCs in Alberta are. If you can’t win under the liberal brand then the only “sensible” thing to do is run for the party that you figure will win. In about 5yrs well need the Reform party back.
