CBC runs nasty hit-piece on Laureen Harper

laureen harper cbc

For proof of how far the CBC will go to attack PM Stephen Harper is this shameful story designed to make his wife Laureen look like an uncaring elitist:

“Raising awareness about cat welfare is a good look for your husband’s upcoming campaign strategy,” King said as security rushed over to escort her from the building. “Don’t you think supporting government action on missing and murdered indigenous women in this country would be a better look?” (see here)

And besides the brutally torqued headline used, notice that the reporter’s byline is not included.

Cowards.

And if this little nutbar wants some attention then by all means, we should give it to her:

Update: the Star’s Jane Gerster manages to top the CBC in her hit-piece with this disgusting lede:

“Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s wife Laureen dismissed an activist’s concerns about missing and murdered aboriginal women” (see here)

Fits right in at the Star doesn’t she?

Update: CBC doubles-down on the attack with this headline:

Mrs. Harper has long been known as a cat-lover, and one who supports causes involving feline welfare. What’s wrong with that? CBC has the ‘entitled’ attitude that anyone they approve of has the right to rudely interrupt more conservative folk at any time with irrelevant questions and – further – to be offended if they don’t get the answers they seek.

  2. Nicola Timmerman Says:

I also remember the climate change protestors who got on the stage behind PM Harper during a Vancouver speech. You got to be on board with their issues, or you ain’t worth nothing.

  3. Bubba Brown Says:

It really would not have mattered what Laureen Harper was advocating she still would have been interupped by this little brat.
It is after all, all about what the brat thinks is important no matter how inappropiate or ill timed.
She could have been squalling about the seals or “climate whatever”.
I wonder if she has ever voulenteered any of her precious time at a womens shelter?
The CBC however by chiming in on the brat’s side is as clueless as the brat.
Defund them faster please PM Harper more cuts and deeper ones.

  4. Guffman Says:

Laureen does plenty of charity work of all kinds, for people as well as animals. One has to expect misguided hecklers to show up at any given event that the Prime Minister or his wife are donating their time to, but I agree that it’s cowardly journalism to run a hit piece on Laureen, trying to make her look bad when it was the activist who was the one who was out of line here.
But it’s what we’ve come to expect of the CBC and the rest of the media party, isn’t it?

  5. Martin Says:

CBC judges this Toronto event to be news worthy, yet the Ont hearings on $1.1B misplaced tax dollars by McGuinty/Wynne Liberal governments is not. CBC has never seriously reported on the wiped computers, the fact that the Premier’s office suffered breached security, that an OPP search warrant was served on the Premier’s office. All CBC Ont political coverage begins and ends with the Rob Ford soap opera. What is taking place a few blocks away at Queens Park is of no interest whatever.
But a story of PM’s wife focusing on cats, over humans, now that is worth following.

I wonder if Hailey supports abortion on demand any time in a pregnancy for any reason as often as ‘you’ want and with taxpayers footing the bill?

  7. andycanuck Says:

I wonder if Hailey thinks the lives of polar bears (as the Left would have it) are more important than jobs for people?

  8. manitoba fay Says:

    Sell the CBC!!!!

Hailey King is an embarrasement to her parents (and the rest of Canada!)

I’ll take any old alley cat ahead of this bit of self important, publicity seeking , to quote Justin Trudeau, “piece of shit”.

the MM at their DISGUSTING worst talking points
I think they have a worthy opponent in Laureen Harper
my money is on Laureen Harper a truly genuine package

  12. Ontario Girl Says:

The Harper attack machine “the CBC” also tried to make things worse by misquoting Laureen Harper and MUCH later, after the damage was done, they did a correction and also changed the misleading headline…I am so fed up with the CBC…nothing but a Conservative , tax payer funded hate machine 24/7..this was their correction

    Corrections

An earlier version of this story quoted Laureen Harper as saying “That’s (missing women) a great cause, perhaps another night.” In fact, she said, “That’s (missing women) a great cause, but that’s another night.”

  13. Beachdude Says:

This 21 year old little girl/ professional protester is News to the CBC? Must be a slow news day…..funny thing though the CBC never or very rarely talks about the billions of tax money wasted by the Ontario Liberal government. With regards of the Star they are just funny with the biased reporting just look at “Smokey” Dalacourt as an example of this. Over the years she speculated that the PM’s marriage was over, he didn’t take the wafer, and the newest one that the PM suffers from depression.

[…] be no surprise that since the CBC ran its hit-piece yesterday on PM Stephen Harper’s wife (see here) others in their employ such as ex-Michael Ignatieff speech writer Adam Goldenberg would think […]

  15. Liz J Says:

The CBC doesn’t seem to know the meaning of honest reporting, skewing the facts to better fit their Liberal/Left agenda is so ingrained they wouldn’t know how to be neutral, give us the straight goods on anything.
This event by Laureen Harper was not political and she is not given to answering political questions nor is she obliged to offer her opinion on such matters. These slugs among us who go about protesting this and that should be ignored, they do not know their place but they know who to target to get the attention of the media party and their trumpets like the CBC and the Toronto Star.
If I were Laureen I’d make an issue of this scum and demand they all retract and apologize.

  16. oxygentax Says:

Pretty sure that I know of a Billion dollars that would go towards “finding“ those women. Hell, maybe 2 years, after all, the CBC wants their agenda looked after.
