Senators say CBC hiding true salaries of employees like Peter Mansbridge

No one believes that CBC’s Peter Mansbridge is only making up to $80,500 and that Jian Ghomeshi and Amanda Lang are being paid between $60,844.32 and $77,390.42:

Contacted Tuesday, Mansbridge declined to comment on his income from the publicly funded CBC, saying “it’s personal information.” (see here)

I’m pretty sure all the CBC journos about to be laid-off would like to know though.

A FOI search might show how Mansbridge and the other leeches get topped up

    • Guffman Says:

I believe the FOI route been tried, probably more than once, and refused flat-out by the CBC who as usual seem to act with arrogant impunity.

I recall, during the flap over Ron McLean not being rehired to CBC’s sports coverage, primarily HNIC, it was reported that he was making something in the order of $450,000/yr, and Don Cherry was making significantly more than that.

    But Mansbridge makes $80,500???

    Uh, huh…

  3. Liz J Says:

The arrogant Mansbridge is quoted as saying his salary is a private matter. Sorry Bucko, salaries paid by taxpayers are not private and not divulging the amount paid out for a news reader and host of the famous and biased “At Issue” panel means it’s out of whack and he and they know it.

I’d love to see Dana Carvey do an impression of Mansbridge like his Tom Brokaw.
