National Post editor Jonathan Kay tells people ‘to get a grip” over yesterday’s terrorist act

So besides being outed this week for helping Liberal leader Justin Trudeau write his campaign comic book (see here) the National Post’s Jonathan Kay doubles down on removing what’s left of any respect he might have with this gem:

Back to back days of Islamic terrorists killing a Canadian soldier here in Canada and Kay tells you to not get so worked up as it’s not that big of a deal.

Looking forward to him calling up the family members of these fallen heroes and telling them that.

Update: Kay doubles down on his moronic comment by calling this act of terrorism a “suicide by cop”:

Kay’s statement reminds me of Mississauga’s Hurricane Hazel telling her constituents that the billion dollar gas plant scandal was “a big mistake, and it’s water under the bridge”
Her doteage had the excuse of losing her grip to senility.
Kay has lost his grip on reality.

He is upset – his fellow liberal leader is loosing all the “fluff” the media was given him before this all happened. Trudeau has had to take a back seat and Kay is upset about it all. Plus, it has cemented exactly what PM Harper has been saying all along about these terrorists and made Trudeau’s stand look pretty sick…. Even in Trudeau’s speech, he couldn’t mention the name terrorists….

I wonder if the Media Party will be paying a polling firm to gauge Canadians on PMSH in terms of leadership in the wake of this terrorist attack. Considering they already know what the results would likely be, it’s unlikely they would have the question asked on their behalf.

      • Mary HInes Says:

PM Harper’s speech in the House of Commons this morning – was one of the best I ever saw him make…. He certainly was way, way, way above the others…. Can you imagine having “Fluff ball” in charge? He would be suggesting we invite them all for dinner and have some drinks!

  3. E Mac Says:

All true. Hopefully all citizens will remember this come voting time just what kind of suck-ups we have backing the Liberals. Trudeau/Kay – less than Canadian.

    WHAT AN ASS!!!!

Did Trudeau actually place flowers on the sidewalk in front of the War Memorial prior to the Prime Minister and Mrs. Harper laying the wreath? I found his action more than a little premature. In fact, I’d venture to say it smacked of a ‘me first’ attitude.

  6. bocanut Says:

What are the chances that any media will ask Bozo if he thought his daddy PET would have enacted the War Measure Act after Monday and Wednesday’s shootings?
Slim to none and slim left town.

  7. Bubba Brown Says:

    My condolences to the fallen.
My contempt to the fart-catchers like Kay and his frail prince undoubtly PO’ed that the launch of his campaign comic book has been sidelined by real world events.
Trudeau was the only leader of a major party to find it necessary to shout out to an ethnic voting group yesterday.
Our PM has been talking about this threat, it is real, as has been tragicaly demonstrated.
Unfortunately Justin was picking his nose and making faces while the adults were talking.
“Get a grip”, disconnected ,callous, immature “Liberal attitude.
First things first, PM Harper reaches out to the fallen, Trudeau reaches out to his voter base.
JMO I am very angry and want these loose cannons put where they can do no more harm.
The Trudeau Charter makes that very difficult, time for the adults to deal with that.

He hasn’t resigned yet? I thought he would have no choice when the Trudeau book conflict came to light earlier this week.

  9. Pissedoff Says:

Revealed: Muslim convert who shot dead Canadian soldier is the ‘privately-educated son of country’s immigration chief, had his passport revoked and has ‘links to Syrian terrorist’

  10. Matthew Says:

Not a Jon Kay fan, but you are misreading his tweet. He is saying that the terrorist committed suicide, by killing one cop and then being shot himself. Not that the cop committed suicide

  11. Liz J Says:

If he were in the line of fire in the Parliament buildings or cowering for his life in an office not knowing what they were dealing with he may not be making such a jackass comment.

Was it CBC’s Solomon or Mansbridge who informed their viewers or mused about the whereabouts of the Prime Minister after he was whisked away to a safe place? Can anyone confirm that?

  12. ohboy Says:

I find it humourous that the headline pic above of jonathan kay shows him standing beside his Cat in the Hat asshat.
    Very fitting !!

  13. Sean M Says:

Well, what to expect from a LIberal Party Trudozo PR agent than a “who cares” about a soldier”… what a sick twisted little man Kay is… Kay doesn’t have to worry about Islamic terrorists because he doesn’t even recognize them as terrorists, just like the idiot Trudozo that he works for, he can’t utter the word terrorist either, never mind Muslim or Islam. I guess the mental disorder that is modern “Liberalism” has finally ravaged Kays diseased mind. Kays reference to the soldiers as “one guy” is despicable , he sounds like that clip of Omar Khadr’s sister where she says… “so he killed an American soldier big deal”… a sentiment that I’m sure is shared by Mr. Kay. Kay is truly a sick man and he should be ashamed of himself, bloody fool!

  14. Anonymous Says:

What he said and how he said it do not make him appear to be very bright. He actually seems to be in a bit of a panic with this comment. He has totally failed in convincing anyone, especially with that insulting “get a grip” opening line. All in all it’s a total fail on his part.
If you don’t believe me just try it out yourself. Every time you meet or speak to someone, start the conversation with “get a grip” and make note of the reaction you get. You’d really think that someone in that business would know these things, but alas!

  15. Conservative Canuck (@Prue61) Says:

I heard one radio host use the phrases “disenfrachised” and “need to find the root cause”. Luckly I can’t reach through the airwaves.

  16. burton Says:

I see Ditchburn’s column today officially ends the moratorium on abject media bias. What a hack.
