Liberals break election laws by setting up campaign table outside voting station?

Elections Canada;

This photo is making its rounds on social media apparently depicts the University of Ottawa Young Liberals handing out campaign literature outside an Elections Canada voting station:

If true this would of course break the Elections Act and Elections Canada needs to investigate, immediately.

  1. Anne in swON Says:

    Didn’t something similar happen at the University of Guelph in 2011 where Michael Sona was accused of attempting to grab the ballot box during a ‘special ballot’.

    “In a letter sent Thursday to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, the Tories alleged that the polling station was not sanctioned by Elections Canada, that partisan election material was on display near the ballot box, and that scrutineers from the various parties were not present.

    Elections Canada ruled against the Conservative claims.” Should a compaint be made to Elections Canada we can expect the same outcome this time.

  2. Jen Says:

    Breaking laws seems to be an new thing. And don’t expect the courts to do any since they too ‘do not uphold the law.
    However, the only time elections Canada or the courts have a say is when conservatives are involved.
    When institutions like E/C and courts break laws, Canada laws becomes a joke.
