Iran Islamic Republic’s Press TV is operating in Canada

Is it within the Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission’s ability to stop the mouth-piece of the Iranian dictatorship from operating in Canada?

The Executive Director of HonestReporting Canada exposes that Press TV has been active in Canada for years and has hired one of the University of Lethbridge’s nutbars to be a correspondent:

Just two weeks ago, Blakeney interviewed Calgary Police Chief Rick Hanson in a media scrum on the topic of Canada’s hate speech laws. Hanson was likely unfamiliar with the background of this reporter and the lack of bonafides of this news organization. Blakeney subsequently included Hanson’s comment in a report which claimed that Israel was a “criminal state” and that Canada had “Orwellian ‘hate speech’ laws” that have only been useful when “pro-Israel lobbyists” get involved. (see here)

You might remember Josh Blakeney as the hate-filled clown who studied under the 9/11 conspiracy theorist Prof Anthony J Hall at the University of Lethbridge and was so very happy that Christopher Hitchens got throat cancer (see here).

Please tell me the minister responsible for the CRTC, James Moore isn’t already aware and will now be looking into how a such a media organization has been openly spreading its vile propaganda in Canada.

One Response to “Iran Islamic Republic’s Press TV is operating in Canada”

  1. Rob H. Says:

Seeing a comment about my alma mater, U of L, I was slightly intrigued as I, candidly, have never heard of this Blakeney character.

    So.

I decided to dig a little deeper, read the links here, and actually made my way through Blakeney’s website. To say I was unimpressed would be gross understatement. He’s a massive poser. Has nothing really interesting or vital to say – but, hey, he’s entitled to say it. Stupid thing is, he would be over-joyed that you and I have paid any attention to him at all – as we’re probably the only two human beings in the last 24 hours to even acknoweldge his sad existence.

And I’m sure if someone told Hitchens that some little toadie would be taking joy in his illness and his death, he wouldn’t have been concerned in the least. As someone who, himself, was prone to strident criticism of others and who eschewed politically correct sentiment – his response would have been, “who cares?”

I suggest we let this guy and his mentor, Anthony Hall, spout whatever 9-11 conspiracy gibberish they wish. No one’s listening.

    So why should we?
