Quebec Liberal candidate Nancy Charest doesn’t think too much of her leader Michael Ignatieff saying:
“I believe Mr. Ignatieff understands our realities but he doesn’t have the ability to give Quebec what it wants”
This was at goodbye party for ex-Liberal Quebec lieutenant Denis Corderre who quit in a huff due to Iffy’s “inner circle from Toronto”.
Charest made it clear who she loves in this internal Liberal battle:
“A person who allowed me to stay the course is Denis Coderre because of his authenticity and perseverance with these issues. He’s my favourite!”

No government, no nation, no planet has sufficient resources to give Quebec what it wants.

Right on!!!!.
The strangest thing is that the FRENCH from France don’t like them either.
If Quebec doesn’t get their bottle on time- they throw a tantrum. Quebec uses the ‘threat’ card at the polls.
How many quebecers know the billions of dollars they get every years from ALBERTA’S ‘oilsands?

I’ll make two observations.
1- the woman is not stupid and must realize how far she will get in the party with the current leadership, which she must figure is not going to have a future after the next election, and surprisingly she’s marked herself as a loose cannon for the Coderre camp and will be treated like typhoid Mary if she shows up to support a contender. My guess is that she’s being influenced by someone ouside both teams to sabotage both Iggy and Coderre. BTW the young prince is starting to be a bit more vocal about “ideas” but hasn’t the conviction to say what they are.
2- There are a lot of conflicting messages coming from the liberals in just the last two days. My suspicion is something is up with the hard left both in the LPC, the NDP, the Green and the Bloc….gut feeling not reality so take that with a grain of salt.

Forgot to elaborate on another point.
The idea that the woman is saying that Quebec will not get what it wants from Iggy but it will from a closet separatist like Coderre suggests that there is a rump of Quebec liberals that want to keep the illusion of the two solitudes alive. They supported Iggy when he started making noises about putting meat on the constitutional bone in the form of that third rail the constitutional special status for one province.
Now they are getting impatient and desperate as even Bouchard has accepted reality that there is no more free money to be had with the endless threat of separation.

Coderre knows where the future is. He is Rae’s 2nd Lieutenant behind Cauchon.

Iffy, doesn’t have the ability to give ANY province in Canada what it wants but for sure not Quebec. Nothing is ever enough.
The comment is timely though and if I was a betting girl, a strategic play from the Coderre camp. They won’t be content until Ignatieff is gone and they bring back one of their own more closely assimilated Liberal snakes.
