My complaint filed regarding CBC’s changing policy of publishing suspects’ names

CBC Ombudsman Kirk LaPointe

On July 21st, when the federal government announced the list of 30 suspected war criminals, CBC’s initial web story stated that:

“CBC News is not publishing the names or photos of the suspects at this time.”

This was later changed to:

“CBC News’ practice is not to name suspects, and therefore is not publishing the names or photos of the suspects at this time.”

If this is indeed a policy of the CBC, it has not been followed in the past and seemingly only now has been put in place because of their refusal to name these suspected war criminals. Also, why is it any different to publish names and pictures after they’ve been arrested?

I am asking you as the CBC Ombudsman to confirm that this is an official CBC policy and not one that has been only formulated along ideological lines.

Regards
Dean Skoreyko

Although you will never get the truth it is clear that it is because this was a Conservative government initiative, and the CBC will continue to do everything possible to undermine and sabotage the present government. A bigger mystery is why this government continues to throw our money at the CBC and to allow the CBC to break the law when it comes to access to information.

  2. Harry98 Says:

The CBC seems to be having trouble with common sense these days. Or, maybe it has always been like that and we never had anything to compare it to. Now we do. Thank you Sun News.

  3. Liz J Says:

I’m beginning to wonder what lengths the CBC would be willing to go to feed their anti-Conservative agenda. Would they go so far as to sabotage the country to get at the Conservatives?

Given some of the reportage from that outfit you’d have to wonder if they’re friends of this country let alone citizens.

The CBC is all about world government – they support the green agenda, global governance and the United Nations model of law and order. Outing thugs, murderers and genocidal maniacs does not fit their narrative of who are the real victims. The will always protect anyone who paint “left” on their shirt sleeves. Cheers.

    • Jen Says:

How many times has CBC gone after conservatives without proof
How many times they have accused the conservatives 24/7 without proof.

    Nice work.
I wonder if James Moore is still defending his buddies.

  6. Stan Says:

The CBC has entered the political arena when they automatically oppose everything the duly elected Harper Government does.
If the CBC wish to be involed in politics, that’s fine, but then we should get to vote for or against them.

  7. Sean M Says:

Good work Dean… The CBC is such a destructive entity for Canada. The fact CBC wants to protect war criminals and illegal immigrants says so much about the rot of corruption that infests that propaganda machine. What the heck could James Moore be thinking? Stop feeding the beast!! I look forward to hearing the results of your inquiries.

    • BC Blue Says:

From the look on Jason Kenney’s face at a press conference where the CBC was outed by Vic Toews as not wanting to publish these names, I get the feeling Moore may not be held in the highest regard within the Conservative caucus right now.

  8. Jen Says:

What James should be telling the CBC “you are being paid by the public therefore, they deserve to know what is going without any interferance from you. Now, get on with the broadcasting of those names or else, in the behalf of the public you are fired, closed down, privatized.”

  9. Jen Says:

Dean, when I heard Solomon say that CBC can’t or shall I say will not disclose names of the ‘wanted’ criminals without proof ;how many times have they CBC spent berating the government without any proof.

  10. To the point Says:

Plain and simple hide anyones identety you are a colaborater. News is news the guilt will be determinated by the courts and this will in many cases take too long in part by sheltering possible criminals .If the public have the information they are suspect it could bring witnesses forward.. In the meanwhile we have a right to know. Your obligation to be fair is to also report the outcome.
