NDP and Liberals would have welcomed N. Korea being UN Chair

Here’s the reasons that the NDP will never form government and the Liberals will not regain it any time soon.

Commenting on Foreign Minister John Baird’s commendable decision to speak out against North Korea despicably being named chair of the United Nations Conference on Disarmament is NDP foreign affairs critic Paul Dewar and Liberal foreign affairs critic Dominic LeBlanc:

Dewar – “I think it’s more about grandstanding than actually getting results”

LeBlanc – “From climate change and the environment to the Rotterdam Convention on hazardous chemicals and pesticides, Canada is systematically failing to wield its influence internationally in order to gain partisan advantage domestically.”

As if all the years of Liberal politicians foreign affairs bureaucrats have done a thing to change North Korea or the way the corrupt UN operates.

How is taking a principled stand anything but doing the right thing? (see here)

Canadian media priorities: Prince of Pot gets sick

20 people died during a Ontario outbreak of C. difficile and hardly a mention of it in the Canadian press until the Sun News’ Brian Lilley story shamed some of the established media to start reporting on it.

Now compare the instant and blanket coverage of media darling Marc Emery AKA The Prince of Pot when he comes down with a “super bug” while in prison. A quick Google search shows every major news source running it (see here).

Too bad none of those 20 ordinary Canadians had millionaire spouses putting out press releases.
