Iffy says he doesn’t worry about personal liberties

While the rest of the Ottawa Press Gallery were joining Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff in a good chuckle about how often he gets his privates groped, Adam Rawanski noticed alarmingly that Iffy doesn’t care about the loss of Canadian’s personal liberties from invasive screening procedures:

“I’ve long ceased worrying about these issues. We have to keep this country safe, and the people I feel strongly in support of are the hardworking security screeners.”

One thing that Radwanski doesn’t understand is this is exactly how a Liberal thinks. (see here)

Now check out Susan Delacourt here who goes out of her way to chastise people who didn’t get Iffy’s  humour, saying it was all a joke even when the scary part of the quote includes “I’m serious” at the beginning.

I think what needs to be asked is this:
If the folks that have no problem with this because they want all steps taken to make thing safe, then would they be just as comfortable with profiling?
Or here’s a tricky question to ask a liberal, do they have a reasonable limit on how far the state should go to protect the people?

    Spoken like a true socialist.

Guess we just don’t appreciate the humour of the upper crust.

He said what he said, he has people touching his private parts all day long and he said he was serious, how can that be spun into anything decent?

  4. Calgary Junkie Says:

Looks like the natives are getting increasingly restless over at Lib Blogs, led by the Prince of Darkness.

They gotta do SOMETHING with Iggy. He’s just too embarassing. His statements have become un-spinable.

So come on guys. Grab the pitchforks, storm the OLO barricades. Ride the visiting professor out on a rail.

‘Have to conclude Delacourt and Travers would be in line for Senatorial appointments should the Liberals gain power. They’re so damned smart, know exactly what should be done in all matters of state and how people should behave. Hell they can even predict what the government will do.

Iggy’s silly comment is called humour by the Liberal shills in the media but they would be all over it, calling it stupid and gross, which it is, if PM Harper said such a thing. It’s not funny ha, ha, it’s funny strange. It’s strange what pops into Iggy’s mind and flows out his mouth, maybe he’s channeling Gomer Pyle. His last channeling effort was Hugo Chavez, comparing the PM to the Devil with his sulphur remark.

Whatever the liberals did do and now this remark from Ignatieff, the msm supports them.

Had the PM said what Ignatieff said , the msm would waste not a murmur of sec in reporting it to the world. That is a guarantee.

Sometimes I wonder who are advising the Liberal Party. If I was running the Conservatives I’d be saving that little sound bit for the next election.

  8. jad Says:

Sorry, but anything that focuses on an old white guy’s “private parts” is just plain gross whether it’s meant to be a joke or not.

  9. Liz J Says:

Right jad, it’s a real drag but Tabloid Jane and Daffy Delacourt et al sure had a jolly time chuckling it off. Only their liberal minds would be able to appreciate his far out humour bordering on the indecent. To top it off he looked so silly saying it. I do hope we have a good clip of it all to add to the arsenal.

So that’s what passes for humour in the Liberal world. Some of Ignatieff’s advisors should tell him to not bother trying to be a “fun” guy. Spontaneous wit is NOT Ignatieff’s forte.

Maybe he should try “channeling” Bob Hope.

He isn’t humourous,it’s obvious, and he can only appear the fool for trying.
