Globe’s TV critic wants Sun News to “lick my pecs”

The Globe and Mail’s John Doyle went on another nutty Sun News attack yesterday (see here) proving just how unbalanced he really is:

“On this matter, Sun News can lick my pecs, as they say in the comedy racket. (And yeah, there are pecs, twice-a-week Pilates does that, and the lattes help.)”

The column is once again seriously bizarre and not that I read his stuff regularly but if this is any indication of how utterly unreadable his writings are, it’s stunning that he collects a pay-cheque for them.

I thought all the loons landed at the Star. How’d they miss this one?

  2. james Says:

Meh it’s a pretty ridiculus op-ed piece especially the part about the “tiny band of viewers”. Hmm that’s weird because they are kicking the other network’s asses in viewership. I’d say far more people watch Sun news than read this guy’s articles.

  3. Geo@yahoo.com Says:

If he said this about the CBC you’d be lauding him as brilliant .

You are lamely predictable. Praise those you like and personally attck thosevwho are not Harperbots.

    Yawn.

  4. Bec Says:

I strongly doubt that you would laud any loser journalist that wanted his pecs licked while critiquing a network..
Ugg, the thought of that is disgusting and the piece by Doyle borders on an entry in an adolescents journal. A very young, childish and chronically mean adolescent.

  5. Adrian MacNair (@unambig) Says:

Although that was quite the tirade, some of his comments hit the mark. I mean, SUN TV is a spectacle and I suppose that’s what they’re aiming for. I have no idea.

    • BC Blue Says:

Unlike other news orgs who aren’t a “spectacle”?

    • The Archer Says:

Agreed, Sun News is an amateurish spectacle…besides… real men start their own chainsaws…but I do think Doyle used his bully pulpit at the G&M to point out his own pissing contest with SNN…about a boring article he wrote about the CBC…yawns all around.

  6. BJS Says:

Sun is an opinion and “talk radio” network.

I’m good with that, because they are willing to talk about things that the regular networks won’t, and in so doing SunTV is providing a huge public service. I think the mainstream media fear them, big time.

That’s why it’s vital that they survive, and kick a bit of ass too.

    Go Ezra!

  7. Bec Says:

    Absolutely BJS!
They bash both sides too, btw. Unlike the useless and bratty CBC or the cowardly CTV.

Now those 2 networks may just lick some leftie pecs and use it as headline News. SNN would do it for satirical purposes.

  8. Alain Says:

BJS and Bec, absolutely. There are many differences, but the main one is that you are not forced to watch SunNews and certainly not forced to pay for it whether you watch it or not. Another important difference is that they are honest and open and do not pretend to be something they are not contrary to every other station. To the cry babies I suggest you let your fingers do the walking by changing channels: case closed.

Globe’s TV critic? I guess when you have a completely useless job it gives you a bit of a nasty attitude.

Lick his pecs? (eye roll – Sigh)What friggin idiot. . Are there ANY straight men in the MSM?

  10. Chris Says:

Who the heck is John Doyle? I have never heard of him/ I don’t get the Globe. Its a Toronto paper despite what they say and has no meaning for me down east. So I suspect this John Doyle fellow (weaselly picture) is just another Toronto centric metro-sexual pec licking dork. probably good friends with his ass-hat-ness George Strombo…whatever.

  11. JR Says:

“… Mainly, its theme is the CBC. In this, Sun News closely resembles the Conservative Party of Canada. …”
Conservative Party, yes. Conservative Government, hardly. If only!

Doyle sure does go on and on. As Ezra might say “Sun TV has a big fan there”.

  12. Bubba Brown Says:

Hmm someone has a fantasy…. I think this pencil neck must be watching the gals at Sun news very, very closely.
As for the “pecs” does he wear a “bro” to contain them?
    Just askin’
