Here’s what Susan Delacourt has to say about why the Toronto Star didn’t report on a rumour that Liberal MP Bob Rae was resigning:
“A couple of days ago, we heard a rumour at the Star that Bob Rae was going to be appointed as ambassador to Israel. Being old-fashioned types, we decided to check before publishing.
Here’s Rae’s response: “Completely, utterly, and totally ridiculous. False, a lie, and a calumny. ”
So we didn’t write a story about it.
The end.” (see here)
Check out the different set of standards the Toronto Star used when they reported on the rumour of Conservative minister Peter MacKay resigning here.
Ummm… Susan, what do you have to say now?

In reality, Delacourt will have… nothing… to say.
It’s a shame. I think Bob Rae would make a fantastic ambassador to Israel. He could do a lot of good in that role.

And she only allows comments that don’t mention the above. Might show what hypocrites her and the Toronto Red Star really are(but we all know that already).

You tried commenting about it on her blog?

I know nothing; I hear nothing; I see nothing.
Here is a rumour we all know of. Delacourt is a big Liberal fan of the party.
And have you notice how Rae put the media in their place and all listen to him without a murmur.

Hmmm is she bucking for that Senate seat? She wouldn’t publish my comment either when I mentioned the hypocrisy of doing a write-up of the MackKay rumour by contrast. I know, I know, a shock right?

Yours was disallowed as well?
November 21, 2010 at 10:43 AM
So far.
However, this is a comment she has allowed –
“What a pleasure to have journalists who actually check sources before publishing.”
What a joke.

I saw that one and almost threw up
November 21, 2010 at 10:51 AM
Me too….

Please keep an eye to see if your comment(s) are posted and if not, would you email them to me.

I have just stopped trying to post comments on her blog as they are just censored. I just look at the source they are the Toronto Star…they lean left….they endorsed the following PM Martin, Premier McGuinty 3 times, Mayor Miller twice, the “Green Shift”!!! and George Smitherman for mayor. They will also endorse Iggy when the federal election happens. You can not expect “fair and unbiased” views from that organization, just accept them for what they are is my suggestion

Nope, shedding light is the best way to expose and eliminate shoddy reporting and journalistic practices.
November 21, 2010 at 6:42 PM
Guess she read your blog post…she was “CAUGHT” because now she has allowed comments that don’t agree with her crap. The good old days of the internet, to hold their feet to the fire, as they say.

Very true…Harper said that one time I believe. ie That bloggers were helping even out the playing field

Susan doesn’t think, she is a Liberal party stooge. When the Star got wind of the ‘rumour’ surrounding Peter, they said go with it, can’t help them can it? When it came to Bobby, they were told not to do it.
