Public Eye Online is reporting that Conservative minister Stockwell Day will announce tomorrow that he will not seek re-election. (see here)
I’m in that riding…wonder if the Conservative powers-that-be would allow a disturber like me run?

This is bad news. First Hill, Prentice and now Day… three key players on the front-bench gone like that.

well that sucks he was the most loyal conservative to stephen Harper. he would have made a great Deputy PM. he never once fought or dissed his own party. and when he lost the Leader ship to mr harper. he stayed on and worked with him . good bye mr Harper it was good to know of you.

Run for the nomination, sell some memberships and see what happens.

Stockwell Day is a class act, a really able Cabinet Minister and will be a great loss to the party. However, he’s served for several years and it’s understandable he may want to get out of the tough grind of politics move on to other ventures.

It looks like Ross Rebagliatti dropped out of the race for the Liberals a bit too soon.
It will not be easy to replace Day,I hope the local Conservatives have a credible candidate waiting in the wings.

That depends. Do you believe Jesus rode dinosaurs? Do you think the Government shouldn’t legislate financial freedom, but they they should legislate who I sleep with? Do you think Government belongs in women’s wombs, or that you and a womb-booger have equal rights? Are you willing to call the Opposition undemocratic when they form a completely Constitutionally-allowed coalition, but then completely ignore the will of Parliament, lie to Parliament on numerous occasions, and prorogue twice to save your slimy ass?
Yeah? Great!!! Welcome to the team!!!

This is why I think we should be able to pick who we want to run for each party like they do in the states.
